Definitely due to no games. I mean what else are you going to buy if you have a Wii u and want a new game for it? Well Nintendo published and developed games of course.

Not true it sold well because of two main reasons (not all):
1. Blue Shell Edition - I threw it at my gf's ass and it hurts apparently lol
2. Limited Console
Some other reasons = popular series vy Nintendo core, improved over 7, luigi death stare
I bought it cause of the extra free game. I've problably played Pikmin 3 more than MK8. 2 great games for the price of 1, makes it a lot easier to part with $74. (damn tax and Canadian price hike)
i honestly thought watchdogs sold so well on ps4 because ps4 owners were starved for games.
I would say that the lack of games actually hurt MK8's sales. If there were more games for the console, it would actually be worth buying right now. A larger install base would've greatly improved MK8's sales.
I am the Playstation Avenger.

Hype and that yes probably. I mean it sold more on ps4 alone than Mario kart 8 has though. It's also because watch dogs was supposed to be this big next gen game.

i thought everybody pretty much knew, leading up to release, that it wasnt going to be this big next gen game though. not like everybody thought anyway. its just your average run of the mill game that only sold well because people needed something new on ps4.
Well, that's apparently why the better selling Vita games sell so well. So why not?
Even bigger drought before Smash Bros, so going to be the best selling Wii U game to date?
