Forums - Gaming - Project Spark (beta) is the biggest disappointment this year for me

Like, great idea, great execution, but the user created games all suck. Like, the most downloaded game on there is called link's adventure and it's not even entertaining, the community has done some creative things here and there, but the overall quality of the user created content sucks as I have yet to enjoy a single game on there, where in LBP a lot of the user created levels are fun and creative and long as hell. I don't know the game overall has little charm and feels souless in comparison. Hopefully the final product will be better, because the beta sucks.

It seems fairly early on and has time to evolve. I don't think it will be as popular as LBP but who knows.

What I find to be the big drive in LBP community content is how some users do some of the most jaw dropping levels, surpassing MM's own levels, with what seems to be such a limited amount of tools. Seriously, I have played some sick RPGs on little big planet that record your freaking progress (via passwords of course) and it still blows my mind how the fuck that came to be. I don't have any creative juices in me but some of these people should be working AT MM.

Project Spark seems kind of soulless honestly, they don't seem to have that mascot that is Sack boy...unless you count conker now.

Got to agree, for me it felt empty. Was missing something that would keep me coming back for more.

Let's not forget that Conker is being treated like absolute crap as well.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I just really disliked how you get new assets and such. Sooooo F2P. sooo bad.

Maybe it was asking too much of the player? LBP stuck to 2.5D which made things fairly simple.

Yeah, the thing about games like this is that the good stuff usually take time, leaving all the people realeasing crappy games really quickly dominate the space, at first at least.

My toughts exactly, I tough Project Spark could end up beeing too complex for its own good in the end. I havent played the Beta tough so I might actualy liek the game if I play it, just stating my initial impressions when the game was revealed and seeing some videos and trailers was that.

User generated content isn't exactly what you'd call high quality content because it's usually only used for self appeasement ... Hopefully project spark will have some content of it's own to stand on itself.

Probably not as bad as the User Generated Content in Infamous 2 that was so s*** not even worth mentioning.
