Compared to last gen, no. Compared to this gen.. well it will do over 6 million there, and it will have a decent software ecoszstem, so thats good. It will be the szstem with the second biggest installbase behind the 3DS. Just that the avrege numbers dropped all around for everzthing.

2nd doesn't mean much and i think it'll do about 8-9mil lifetime, its that The last handhelds have all done over 16mil so its a huge decline overall!


Unfortunatly this is the current norm in Japan. It could do 8-9 million, I agree, but even then it will be a close to 60% decline compared to the PSP :|

Vita will do good numbers in Japan, its already has a close to 3 million installbase. The PS4 will pick up to, when the Japanese developed software will start to roll in. But all in all, the Japanese hardware market seems to decline for every manufacturer this generation

Right now.. #2 is Xbox One w/Kinect and #4 is Xbox One Kinectless with #6 Dead Rising 3 and #7 Forza 5 LE...

PS Vita Bundle at #34,  PS4 FIFA Bundle at #39 and WIi U #73..  PS Vita is on the list a few times.. no other PS4 or Wii U in the TOP 100 ...  (hourly updated list)

Just found out that Forza 5 has a free Infiniti car pack in August would be nice if they brought back one of the four Japanese tracks that where in 4 before it was released there in September.

Update for today.  Xbox+Kinect still at #2. Xbox wihout is at #14.   PS4 not on the list until #41.

Surprised the Xbox One Kinect edition is still placing so high. It is a good bundle deal though.

I'd like to think that everyone's rock-bottom expectations for XB1 means that it might have a (relatively) decent FW in Japan.

Still, we're looking at small numbers here. I hope it sells alright for the 5pb niche that will turn up there. Plus, western games are growing in influence in Japan so you never know. If MS secured a few more Titanfall-level things to go alongside Halo, that'd help the console.
