The worst part of the deal - you can't even preload this game.

Sorry, but how is $50 a clear money grab? I doubt you even know who Sony's taurget audience is with this game. EDIT: Never mind. Just took a look at your post record. You're obviously a Microsoft lover and Sony hater. |
Go read his N4G comments for a huge laugh
Haha some people are losing their minds.
I'll tell you what the actual story here is. Games almost never get price changes before release, it's just not historically common at all. Every corporation has it's structures and policies, and they rigidly go through them. In this case the decision to lower the price of the title leaves the preorder in a weird place where there's no precedent for the peons in customer service to go on. It's plainly obvious that they will adjust it (possibly even with a small bonus) once someone with actual decision making capacity gets the word. Sony isn't salivating over the $10 that a handful of extremely silly people paid over the previous price for a DIGITAL pre order, lmao.
It is just a case where there was no precedent for the bottom tier rep to deal with it, and no corporation gives their bottom rung employees any real leeway in cases like this.
Also, LOL at anyone who is attacking Sony on this that is a Microsoft fan. Did Microsoft refund anyone who bought an XB1 and predorder of Titanfall in February $110 when they made a $450 bundle? I think not.
Let's wait and see how they will handle this...but if they don't do anything about it, they're really slipping/getting arrogant again.

so whats the reasoning for them not allowing you to cancel your pre-order?
Was there some sort of preorder bonus? Why would you preorder a digital game?
As for Sony, they're wrong, period.
vivster said: What an absolute dick move. Amazon all the way. They don't take deposits and give you a price guarantee for the lowest price it has been during preorder. |
Yeah, I don't understand why in the world they would do that. I love Sony, but they can sure as hell be assholes sometimes.
And why are people pre-ordering on PSstore anyway?

Stupidity, plain and simple. I very much doubt that the policy will stay the same now that it will get the attention of some higher up personnel. Of all the things involved in running a digital delivery service, people pre ordering digital games probably doesn't amount to many folks at all. Surely there aren't that many that would loan money to anyone for items that aren't supply or shipment constrained.
How about how all those Xbox one buyers at $499 and preordered Titanfall got refunded the $110, that sure was looking out for their customers.

Sorry but this post is bullsh. Yeah, if I buy a game at Best Buy and then a month later it's less at Wal-Mart, I can't stroll in with an ad and get the difference. However, if I preorder a game or prepurchase a game from virtually ANY retailer that allows it, and before release the MSRP drops, not only would 99% of retailers simply give me back the difference in price, at the very least they would allow customers to cancel their preorders, get the refund, and then immediately preorder the product again at the lower price.
I don't think Sony is refusing this for greed reasons, I think they simply do not have the capacity to give partial refunds. When they charged my card the wrong amount for a purchase on PSN recently, instead of just giving me the difference back, I had to go through a long process where they refund the entire amount, take away my rights to the product, then have me buy it again if I want.
This move is a slap in the face to any customer of PSN who preordered the digital version there, and it's so blatant and shitty that it is something Sony must already be working on a fix for. Just a matter of time before they announce it and then you can go from blaming innocent consumers to praising Sony #4thegamers.
Shoulda watched the South Park episode HumanCentiPad. Read the damn user agreement
