Okay, here we go. I've not owned a nintendo console besides the wii, I've tried some of their other systems, but never owned them. And I'm on the fence about buying a Wii U. So I have one request: Nintendo fans, convince me! Post everything that might help me decide, games, trailers, upcoming stuff, or just general history that proves that it will be a good purchase. Try your best, you might bring another Wii U owner aboard!

Do u like Nintendo franchises like Mario, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Fire Emblem, Star Fox, Wii Series?

If yes, get a Wii U. If no, dont get a Wii U.

Wii U is just like the previous 3 Nintendo consoles, if u like Nintendo first party games then its worth it but if u dont then its not, simple as that.

From the OP: "I've not owned a nintendo console besides the wii, I've tried some of their other systems, but never owned them. "
and
"The new Zelda has me SUPER HYPED."

I think you need to be more helpful than that.

Could you please explain? It's true that I have not owned a nintendo system besides the Wii, but I've tried a gamecube at several occasions, and used to go to my friends house to play N64 as a child.

Does this mean that I can't be hyped for the new Zelda?

I saw this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZmxvig1dXE

And I got excited by it. However I would not pay 250 dollars for a system which has Zelda, Mario 3d world, and pikmin 3 and mario kart 8, so I wanted to check on the web to see if others thought that the entire library was worth it and also explain why (important). Given that so far I actually enjoyed the community on VGChartz I decided to check here.

Now, for all the negative douches that has posted in this thread, you do realise that you put the entire Nintendo community in a bad light? And also, what do you have to win on saying things like Nintendo is obviously not for you if you haven't played all of their previous 1st party games? I mean come on! If nintendo wants to prosper, they need to show me (and all the others!), as a sony fan, that their system is also worth getting. They need to cater to everyone, not just established nintendo fans!

If these don't sell you on the system, you'll probably never want a Wii U!

Hehe. I pretty much killed my internet too load those videos, but it was worth it! I'll be joining all of you respectful Wii U owners around christmas. PS4+Wii U will have me set on everything I want in gaming for this gen! (when I get them)

You know you want it

Bayonetta 2, only 4 Wii U

What I was saying was that just saying "Do you like Nintendo franchises?" is not a sufficient question to ask when someone doesn't have an established history with Nintendo.  Your experience with Nintendo means that you wont know enough about Nintendo's franchises just by pure mention of it.

I also quoted you being hyped for the new Zelda as proof that you at least have SOME interest in Nintendo games, so his statement should have been more detailed rather than the lazy "If you like Nintendo games, get a Wii U.   If not, don't."

I understood the point of this thread, I was explaining to zorg that his reply wasn't appropriate.

I don't know how much my preferences in games interlaps with yours so it's hard for me to give an adequate recommendation.

Sorry, man, it was just that some of the replies here made me pissed, so I kinda saw everything after that with the eyes of a hostile, pissed, norwegian, viking. (hopefully the viking part explains it all )

Now, that I read through the thread again I actually saw that there were way more helpful persons than condecending douchebags. I'll try to appreciate all of you helpful people here (and on the rest of VGChartz) more.

Is there any specific question you would like us to answer about the system?

I've decided to buy the system eventually, but is it worth to buy it now? Or should I, as someone said earlier, wait for Zelda?

I would wait for the imminent price drop personally.

Also how is the Indie support. are there any notable indie titles? I've heard it's quite good on the Wii U, but i've never seen anything about it.

Worth now. With MK8 promotion and all, you should buy tomorrow.
