Now that's how you advertise your console properly, if Ninty can't do it at least the stores can :) But it is a big deal: countless were the times when in my local store I saw people cluelessly wondering if the systems were the same and very intrigued by WiiU's game cases. Well, the confusion is real, and you can't blame the consumer, mainly when the consumer isn't like the average hardcore gamer that knows what's new and what's old..

I wouldn't blame Nintendo on this shit. How can people tell the difference between iPhone 5 and 5S!? And worst part, is that it keeps selling, and BETTER... So I believe people are stupid, not that we are too hardcore.

Basically how I feel about this.

I have three boxes for three different generations of iPad. They're all exactly the same. Same picture, same text, same name same everything. There isn't even a number on each box (1, 2 or 3) to differentiate them. We all like to say that it's the casuals that are into the smartphones and the tablets now and they know perfectly well there's a difference between each generation of those devices.

Because it's properly advertised and the iPhone brand is actually recognizable and is a fashion to know that kind of thing. Also people willinggly spend more $100 for an addicional16gb iPhone5, conscious that the only upgrade is the memory. Casuals are indeed stupid and only follow trends. But advertising products a lot helps too.

Oh please, that's a silly argument. A phone is a modern necessity and every fool knows that an increment number equates to a later model.

Nintendo has the added complicity of having the gamepad which can be confused as a standalone handheld, a product they also produce.

Unlike you, the majority of people's lifes revolves around a phone, not a Nintendo console.

I haven't seen an iPhone/iPad advertisement im my life. Anywhere (outside Apple Stores). Yet people still know.

Well, that's what happens when your core audience aren't gamers. I don't mean that as trolling. But many Wii gamers weren't gamers at all. Just people who bought in the fad. I remember my mom trying to buy me an SNES game and came home with an NES game. Finally though, I supposed this mix up is the cause of all of WiiU's problem then?
