Why do we need violence in video games?

Why is it appealing? 


What kind of question is that? Why do we need RPG's. Why do we need colourful games? Why do we need racing games? Why do we need sport games?

Same answer: because there's an audience for that. People watch action movies with violence all the time. There's nothing wrong with that.

As for the second question? Yes, it is to some people. Just the way you, perhaps, like plumbers who eat mushrooms and get bigger, people like shooting things and killing monsters. Just not cute monsters. Nothing wrong with either group.

actually i like stealth so like batman metal gear solid stuff like that

Both games have violence with stealth being one of the most important aspects of each game. But there is viloence. I guess you can answer your own question.

yep i was starting to answer my own question sorry for posting a stupid question

but then again back on topic.. did anyone really expect mk8 to do wonders for the wii u other than raise its base line most likely 10k to 20k more?

It didn't make it the top-selling system or the best system suddenly, but it did give a significant sales boost. Why aren't we asking why Titanfall didn't save the Xbox One? Its sales are pretty terrible too. I'd be surprised if the $399 Xbox One sold significantly better than the $499 one. I suppose people can be ignorant of the features of Kinect, but when I purchase an Xbox One, it will be with Kinect. It's so integral to the system's feature-set.

2D Mario is good, the old ones, not the new 2.5D or whatever they're called. 3D Mario is great as well. Take off those nostalgia glasses! Took me a while to get used to as well. I wasn't a fan of Sunshine or SM64, but Galaxy 1 and 2 were amazing.

Called it. People who care about MK8 will already have a WiiU as most likely they also care about Pikmin/DK/Mario. Nintendo isn't reaching out to a wide audience but just the same people time and time again.

The store's around my house still have plenty of bundles, but the stand alone game is sold out in a few stores.
