Saddening to hear, hopefully they iron it out before launch.

If your game can't scrape by 30fps, which should be the absolute minimum for a game, then maybe they need to focus less of pretty graphics and more on actually having a playable game.

Naw, I'm saying that it's cartoony art style doesn't automatically mean that the characters and environments lack detail. The enemies in particular appear to be quite detailed, especially when you compare them to the horde of zombies in the significantly worse looking Dead Rising 3 -- and that ran at a lower resolution to boot. SO's also got special effects and explosions all over the place. All in all, it looks to be a pretty demanding game, to my eyes. I look forward to seeing DF's analysis of the final product. |
Some are huge but there is really no extreme detail there. I'm sure if this was given to some other studio it would be in 1080p by now.
That's just terrible. I hate open world games that have terrible frame rates. They should push this game back until they can be 100% certain that they can maintain a rock solid 30fps. Hopefully, they're not rushing to get this game to market before they work out all the kinks. Even if I won't get an X1 to play this game, I want Insomniac to succeed and the game looks very promising.
I am the Playstation Avenger.

really? review copy on my pc runs at a nice stable 1440p/60fps.
:P

I watched the video. It drops at the beginning but remains steady 30 fps for the remainder of the demo. Looks really polished actually. Especially so since it's still months from release. Also, some of the replies are pretty hilarious.
Isn't optimization one of the last things worked on in games? So why are we so quick to assume this is the final product. Insomniac didn't even call it a beta or finished product. Still 4 months left so Im gonna wait before judging.

Well, they're no Marius, but I'd say they're more than detailed enough, considering all the other creatures and effects on screen. Don't you think you might be selling Insomniac just a little short? I mean, back in the PS3's darkest times, they released R&C: Tools of Destruction; which was gorgeous, despite the notoriously difficult hardware.

Now if only non-reviewers could try it before September 5th.
Runs fine on both my PC and laptop.
