(READ OP FIRST) Which one?

NSMBU 5 3.60%

Pikmin 3 40 28.78%

Wind Waker HD 73 52.52%

Wii Party U 10 7.19%

So I bought Mario Kart 8 the day after launch, but I still have not claimed my free game from Club Nintendo.  That is because I have yet to decide which one to pick.  I live in the US, so I only have 4 choices, unlike you lucky Europeans.  Those choices are: New Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and Wii Party U.

Let me first give you an idea of who I am in terms of video games.  I'm not into fast button pushing.  That's why love turn based strategy games such as Pokemon and Bravely Default.  It's also why I love Animal Crossing.  Ironically, I do love Smash Bros., but rightfully so, I suck at it.  Platformers also never were my thing.  And not that it's relevant here, but I hate shooters.

New Super Mario Bros. U ($60):  Like I said, I'm not into platformers.  Although, I have not spent too much time with them.  Could this game make me love them?

Pikmin 3 ($60):  I know next to nothing about the Pikmin series.  It doesn't seem like my type of game.  Feel free to argue otherwise.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD ($50):  So a while back, I actually tried to get into the Zelda series, because it seemed interesting.  I made a save file on my friend's 3DS for the two games on it.  I did not really like them.  Although, I only put a few hours into them.  Is that enough?  Does Zelda take more time to love?  Is Wind Waker a good one for a first timer?

Wii Party U ($40):  This is the only game on the list that I will definitely get.  So why did I not simply pick it?  Because it has the lowest price.  Since I get a game for free, wouldn't it make sense to pick the more expensive option?  Or should I just take this one and not get any of the other three?

Just remember, for both the poll, and your responses, DO NOT vote based on your personal preference.  Vote either objectively, in terms of the games' quality, or, the way I prefer you would, by how much you think I would like it based on what I have said.  And of course feel free to ask me any further questions about my tastes.

Wii Party U! It is the best game you will ever play! Like no joke, game of the generation right there!

PS: But seriously, get WWHD if you havn't played WW yet or get Pikmen 3 if you have! But if you played both, then get Mario

Do you know what Zelda games you had played?

WW is not the best place to start but you can get it if you really want too.
if you did not like OOT 3D then there is no hope for you getting into zelda games they all basically follow that same formula

Ocarina of Time 3D and A Link Between Worlds.  No more than about 4 hours between both of them.

Sounds like you'd enjoy the "slower" paced Wind Waker game over the other three.

Pikmin 3 has more to do with real time strategy, and it requires that you plan and work quickly, as you are timed. Same with New Super Mario Bros. U, which requires quick action to avoid enemies, obstacles, and platforms while staying within the time limit. Both are incredible games, but require quick reaction and timing.

Wind Waker has no such time limit, and you can travel the Great Sea and take on the adventure on your own time. It's certainly an amazing game, especially if you haven't played it before.

I'm going to be getting Wii Party U (better get on that), only because I have the other three games.

The best game there is windwaker, but you seem to want wii party, so you should just get it...

Zelda takes more time to love than a few hours!

You aren't too interested in NSMBU and Pikmin, so get Wind Waker HD if you enjoyed what you played in OOT3D, and Wii Party U if you didn't.

Yeah if you didn't enjoy OoT then you probably don't like Zelda. Most Zelda games follow a similar formula to it.. However I feel like you didn't give it enough time to start fully enjoying it's open world (by late 90s standards, lol)

However with the games you can choose from I wouldn't have a clue what you should get. I guess you will just have too take a stab at a franchise and hope you enjoy it.

I chose Wind waker.
