A dev won't devote as many resources to the wiiU as other platforms because they won't sell very well. They're not going to spend a ton of money because then they would lose in the end.
Do you think 3rd party should stop this laziness? | |||

Ps3 ports were inferior to 360 and they still sold great, as for for wiiu ports the reason some ports are inferior is because wiiu/360/PS3 are in the same ball park when it comes to hardware, sure wiiu is over all more powerful but the difference is meager.

The shitty ports on Wii U weren't from Xbone/PS4 though, they were from PS3/360, so there's no legit reason for them to be shitty. |
The legit reason is because they are also shitty on PS3/360, but people accept thats how games are gonna be on 8 year old hardware.
If you want there to be a big difference between the games, there has to be a big difference between the hardware... which there isnt.

There is a big difference between PS3/360 and the Wii U. About 165Gflops extra difference with the recently learned knowledge of the Wii U's RAM and class A power supply (highly efficient). Many games fail to take advantage of that and when ported from the 360 mind you, they could optimize the game a bit more but instead they choose the quick port route and move on.

according to that, every PS4 and X1 game should be doing over 60fps, but thats not how it works. Just because on paper its twice as better, it doesnt mean it will look or perform twice as better.
The wii U should perform closer to the PS360 than the PS4/X1, and it does. Theres no issue here.
"they could optimize the game a bit more" - yeah but they could do that on every platform. Optimisation is an endless task, it just depends how far they want to go, but even if the wii U version had more time spent on optimisation, it wouldnt be worth it since it wouldnt sell as much as the inferior PS3/360 versions anyway.
It should be performing anywhere between the 360 and Xbox One and it's not so optimization needs to happen. Plus quick porting is the reason for shitty ports and many companies have done this.

Digital Foundry. There are like 2 Wii U ports that aren't half-assed. (Trine 2 and Need for Speed) |
add Tekken to that list. And so what? games dip a little bit of frames so that means is half assed? Sounds nitpicky. Why cant people just admit that they are not interested in those games instead of trying to play the victim? PS3 games ran worse intially but people still bought them.

If games don't show graphical improvement on a system with twice as much RAM, despite devs like Criterion and Frozenbyte proving it can be done, then it's not a technically competent port. And I can accept some minor framedrops, but the kind we see in Blacklist, RE: Revelations, Arkham Origins, etc, there's no excuse for that. I don't know about you, but when a company tries to sell me a sub-par product, I'm less inclined to buy it.
And maybe PS3 owners simply had lower standards?

There's no legit reason for them to be worse than PS3/360 though. That's just laziness and/or incompetence.
