Forums - Gaming - How would you have Nintendo restore RE and Megaman?

I know we're all thinking 'would it be a great idea or bad-ass idea" with regards to Nintendo buying Capcom, but lets put that argument aside for one moment and discuss two things in a future were it happens. If it happened how would you like to see Nintendo help Capcom make a new-age Megaman, and how would you like Nintendo to help Capcom make a new-age Resident Evil?

I think a game that was to classic Megaman as 3D Land was to classic Mario would be pretty awesome - which is to say nearly identical to the classic gameplay but with a the level path stretched into 3D on each side.

As for Resident Evil, it seems to me that it could benefit alot from having a game developed while constantly sharing notes with a team working on a Fatal Frame game. It would allow for ideas to bounce around and land on which of the vastly different horror games that it was better suited to.

Everything in the OP sounds awesome. I'd use those.

They could restore Mega Man by releasing a game in the franchise...

Stop getting people's hopes up when we all know it's never going to happen. It's too good to be true.

Just by releasing a New Megaman and a Good Resident Evil.
Easy..

Maybe finish Megaman Legends 3 for starters?
I enjoyed the Battle Networks as well, but slow the releases.

I honestly dont hate the new Resident Evil games but they are definitely full of action when they shouldnt.
I suppose slow the pace, less cinematic and linear environments (make the act of walking through the levels a fear itself instead of simply walking from A to B) among other things.

People need to stop getting ahead of themselves. Look at Miami fans. Cursed their team. If there is ANY chance of Nintendo getting Capcom, it won't happen now as Nintendo does opposite of what their fans want.

ontopic RE4 is the right balance.

For Resident Evil, I think Nintendo's QA is all that is needed. A new RE game that makes use of Wii U hardware and has the kind of art direction skill that Nintendo is renowned for (think Metroid, not Mario), along with a stronger story, would do gangbusters.

For Mega Man, the first step is to revitalise the franchise. I say something akin to NSMB would be in order (not in style but in concept). Something that re-establishes Mega Man as a 2D platformer by updating the classic gameplay from 2 and 3 to a more modern visual design. This would be best on Wii U. The second step is then to move into 3D, where something like 3D Land would be a great move - the 3D depth perception would assist in making the 2D gameplay transition into 3D without making it dramatically harder to play.

Finally, a crossover title would be the order of the day - Mega Man + Mario, perhaps, or Mega Man + Metroid.

E3 this year suggests they listen to the Mii-Verse, so we know what we must do.
