i think nintendo has neither the resources nor time to keep capcom flowing as fans hope it should.

Money resources, they have, human resources you might be right, but hey, in every growth there are growing pains! If anyone can pull it, I think Nintendo is the best company to achieve it... Sony has other monkeys on its back & other gaming companies are too small for a buy out, they would fit better in a merger scenario & from what has come out Capcom would be more inclined to a buy out rather than exchange of stock (merger), they need $$ or in this particular case ¥¥!

but what about amazon? :P

They should and hopefully they will, seeing how Iwata said he is open to some acquisitions, and he can't be that blind to see the advantage of owning Capcom would bring them. Nintendo having Monster Hunter in their grip, will finally permit to have full control of Japan, Mega-Man may finally come back, and all the other IPs would really help to expand Nintendo's audience, Hopefully, Iwata sees what they would be able to have if they got Capcom...

COMG guide to points: 1 point = Raging. 2 points = Beasting. 3 points = Tearing it up. 4 points = Berzerk. 7 points = Rampage. 12 points = Burst. 15 points = god mode. 20+ points = DIVIDING BY ZERO!!! 40+ points = Youkai (originally Pokemon).

-1 = Negabeasting. -5= NegaRampage. -10 = NegaBurst

Capcom's already suffered hugely from talent flight, and you want them to be bought out?

I agree Nintendo could do a better job of IP management in some cases, but it wouldn't be worth it, unless the whole company goes tits-up and everything's up for auction, then Nintendo just needs the blue bomber and Monster Hunter.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Lets face it people if anyone is going to buyt them out it will be Tencent or GungHo.

Should They? Yes
Will They? No

I certainty hope they do just to see the meltdown people will have.

Should Nintendo buy Capcom? As many have heard, Capcom is now open to buy. If Nintendo jumped on this deal, not only would they get help making some first party games but some other huge game series would become exclusives like Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Megaman, and Devil May Cry. I think Nintendo should take this offer before it passes.

Honestly Nintendo desperately needs more first party studios.  Buying Capcom would get them almost everything they need.  Imagine if Ninendo launched a proper hardcore console in 2017 that had Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry, and a megaman reboot as exclusives...

Nice idea, but here is a MUCH better one. Launch in 2020 after the Wii-U has gotten high-end installments of every major Nintendo IP, a few more new ones like Splatoon, and almost every single Capcom IP. Replacing the Wii-U too soon would hurt the brand image, turning it around into the house of many future classices and then releasing the Nintendo Fusion Platform (handheld - home-console hybrid) with full backwards compatibility at the same time as the PS5 and Xbox Circles would be much better. Those who didn't cave to the Wii-U during its life-time could be brought in by that, I'm sure.

From a business perspective? Yes. Instead of outright buying it, they'd just take over it by owning most of the stock, so Capcom would stay Capcom but Nintendo would profit.

From a gamer perspective? FUCK YES. Give me ALL the fanservice Nintendo cameos in my exclusive games!

Fair point.  Maybe Sony should buy Capcom (If they could scrape up the money).

Actually with all due respect, I don't think it's fair point at all, as said by a previous poster, what large casual audience the Rare buy out was supposed to target? Rare made by definition games for core gamers: Goldeneye, Blastcorps, Perfect Dark, Killer Instinct, Banjo, Conker, Jet Force Gemini, Starfox... & as said before when MS bought Rare, it was already a depleted shell of its former self, turning in a few years completly void of the people that made Rare.

I disagree, I feel the games Rare was pumping out on Xbox platforms would have been hits on Nintendo platforms. The Xbox audience was the problem for Rare.

Your opinions lead me to believe you didn't play the Xbox games or have nostalgia for the N64 era.

Uh, so which Microsoft Rare games are you comparing to which Nintendo Rare games? I'd love to hear your challenge to popular wisdom, and don't worry I am not one to side with popular opinion stubbornly if its wrong, so you have every chance to convince me.
