He doesn't get that the troll comments are making fun of Shokio and aren't real opinions. I never saw people on forums with the opinions he's talking about.

That's... not a double standard. It makes sense to directly compare the PS4 to the X1 since both are the same price. They share the same expected "standard". Funnily enough a top tier gaming PC has a different expected standard :P


It is double standards because
1. you can do much more with a PC than just play games and do the typical console stuff so price is irrelevant here. also FYI my PC is as fast as those 2 consoles and did NOT cost 600+ bucks or whatever.

2. this started with the PS3 vs 360 era I did not say it started with the PS4 vs XBO era. PS3 was more expensive and 1 year newer than the 360 and yet both systems were compared (and if you now say PS3 was more expensive because of the bluray drive I remind you that thats the same as having a PC thats more expensive because you can do much more with a PC than a console like replacing hardware etc. Same thing)

3. how come people compare the PS to a WiiU then? Its not the same price but again as long as the Sony systems Win comparing is allowed  its just not allowed to compare it to a PC.

Youre using the PC sides double standards to try and prove PS owners have double standards.

If you take a PC costing the same price as the PS3, it might match it in 2006 and maybe until 2008, but after that optimisation drops off a cliff.

The double standards are because every year PC fans want to put a new budget PC spec up against the PS3 but dont want to take into account the cost required to make that change.

While games are optimised for PS3's 256mb ram, PC's from the same time and similar price which had 1 or 2 gb of ram wont even load up the newer games PS3 is getting because developers are not interested in optimising their games for old PC's.

Same with the PS4. Buy a £350 PC today and it might just match it on performance, but a year or two later, that same PC will get destroyed by the PS4, but PC gamers dont want to look at that anymore, they will just come up with another PC spec on that day and just assume everyone who bought their PC today can get that upgrade for free... and it will continue to happen for every single year the PS4 is out.

I was pretty specific with my wording ^^ People comparing a $2000+ top tier gaming PC to a $400 console makes about as much sense as comparing a PS4 to a $100 notebook PC. I've been primarily a PC gamer for about 3 years now. I know I get much better performance with games than a PS4. I also remember the price tag that came with it.

Anyway, I'm really not in the mood for an argument so let's just agree to disagree. If you think it's fair to compare them no matter how many times more the PC costs, coolio, go for it. Won't stop me laughing a little every time someone does :p

Very well put. I know I'll always enjoy PC gaming more than I do console gaming, regardless of the price, but the comparison really is ridiculous. Next people are going to try and compare an iPhone 5 to a PC

Did you avoid part 3. for the same reason people avoid comparing their system to a PC?  or why did you do it? 3. is the most important part of the whole reply. Again when a PS4 user can compare the PS4 to a Wiiu which is cheaper and comes with a tablet etc. and say WiiU graphics SHIT  or  PS3 vs Wii = Wii graphics shit then a PS4 can be compared to a PC. Comparing ones system to another one just to boast ones ego or for whatever dumb compensating reason  is a waste of time but as long as people do it they have to deal with pc fans telling them to know their place and if console gamers dont want that then = double standards.


Also why compare a 2000+ PC to a 400 console? who is doing this?  A 600 dollar PC kicks the PS4s but already  a 500 dollar PC also can if you know what you are doing and you know what hardware to buy etc.
