Considering how popular Ika Musume is in Japan (big with the otaku crowd as i learned from trawling all the otaku stores in my time there), Nintendo could really be on to something here.

I don't think it's very niche at all! The game fits Nintendo very well and they haven't touched the shooter genre too much.

Well yeah hopefully with all the gameplay and hands on fun it wont become a niche title. But if it wasnt for its large pressence at E3 it probably would have faded into obscurity.

Either way I am looking forward to it.
