It's easier to lock it at 60 if it is always running higher than 60. |
If that's what they mean then that's great.

now now, i never said they are going for 70? why do you say this....... i never said this was anything bad either. the title of the thread itself is pretty misleading.... as are the quotes from naughty dogs. as it seems like they are aiming for something alot higher than 60fps. That is all. 'Naughty dogs working hard to Push the Last of US on PS4 past 60fps' He also never says anthing youre saying here, he just says that: We are coding hard over the weekends with our Naughty Dog graphics team to push The Last of Us past 60 fps. all we get from this rather ambiguous statement is that they are reaching above 60fps, does it say anything about locked 60fps like youre saying? why is it ok for you to infer things but not me? If we go off of the statement my first response is justified in the fact that it sounds exactly what it sounds like: they are aiming higher than 60fps as they didnt say anything that youre saying. |
@bolded. Uhmm because that's what you said in your previous post? "all i said is if they are aiming for something higher than 60fps, like 70 for example..." http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6421346
@italic That's just your assumption, nowhere it is implied they are going "alot higher than 60fps" just that they are going past 60fps, that's an illogical assumption.
@underlined No it doesn't, but keeping this in mind http://www.computerandvideogames.com/458378/the-last-of-us-remastered-targeting-60fps-on-ps4/ said by Neil Druckmann, with now knowing they are trying to push above 60fps, and knowing how games work, and that you can't go past 60fps on a TV, it is logical to assume that they are going for locked 60fps framerate. That's why it's ok for me to infer things.
And btw. Corrine Yu is a woman.
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!

yes i clearly said i was being ignorant in the fact. thank you. But clearly not the point of what i was saying and now you know that not everyone thinks like you and to think so is usually a good idea.

Actually this is very important :) - as their other games are not close to release (say late 2015 for UC4), this allows them to effectively cut a corner and learn about PS4 development which can then be implemented into UC4. I think most companies will be doing this now, its a shortcut to understanding at least a halfway house of how to get the best out of the machines.
Nintentacle said: Awesome! 60fps was good enough, so if they can get passed that, that'd be great! |
LOL. They're not going to run the actual game higher than 60fps. They're just trying to make sure they can lock the game at 60fps.
The PS5 Exists.

That is what they mean. In order to a game locked at solid 60 fps is has to run above 60 fps otherwise it'll dip below target.
spurgeonryan said: Is it possible to have over 60 fps? |
If the HDMI cable can handle it and you have a very expensive 120Hz+ TV, then yes.

Well, that title is misleading...

There, there. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the game if it was running at 60 or 120. |
PC Master Race incoming in 3... 2...
you can tell the difference betwen 60 and 120, if your screen's refresh rate is higher than 60
