Online shooters are not my kind of game, but I'm happy for the Nintendo approach to the genre. Very well done, very Nintendo way.

I will not buy it but I hope online shooters fans do.

Edit: And that OST!!!!! I will definitely buy the OST!!!!! SPLATOON!!!!

Is there a list of ink colours anywhere by chance? Don't remember seeing a vivid red/crimson colour maybe deliberate or I am wrong.

I honestly doubt that guy knew what he was talking about. In an interview with IGN the producers of the game didn't confirm it, they said they were looking to implement a way to communicate, which doesn't sound promising for voice chat.

It has! I also hope it supports 4-player local multiplayer. It's great that Nintendo is giving us an online experience, but they shouldn't forget about their philosophy of couch play with friends.

By the way, is anyone else getting Jet Set Radio vibes from this game? 

Yeah I immediately thought of Jet Set Radio. And cried for Dreamcast.
