Why doesn't anyone like the series. Is it because of the zombie overload in games? The first one was pretty was really fun. It probably surprised me because I went in expecting nothing.

Now i'm even more interested since it's confirmed as a current gen exclusive unlike Dying Light. Throw back in the Tesla mod and i'm sold.

Meh, I didn't like the first one. This one didn't really appeal to me either.

I think it's because the first one's trailer is (in)famous for making players expect an emotional-heavy game. Which was totally not true. So people are a lot more skeptical this time around.

Personally I never played Dead Island, so I couldn't care less for the sequel.

I think it's because riptide was almost the same as the original (based on what I've read), and people are worried that it will be a similar situation.

I liked the first game. Despite the gameplay being rather simple, one skill that everyone has that makes you not want to aim at the head any longer because it swings several times slower and doesn't do much more damage, and all the quests in the game are fetch quests, it was still pretty enjoyable. The only people who should be hating on the first game is people who played it on the PS3 because the framerate was awful, but otherwise it was an enjoyable game to play.

Maybe people were going in thinking it was going to have a deep survival like gameplay, but were disappointed because it wasn't.

Because the games have been reviled except outside of an apparently clueless cult following.

wont be the same as 1, techland arent the devs there deving dying light, yagers deving dead island 2 the ones who brought us another cult hit spec ops the line
