I liked the first game. Despite the gameplay being rather simple, one skill that everyone has that makes you not want to aim at the head any longer because it swings several times slower and doesn't do much more damage, and all the quests in the game are fetch quests, it was still pretty enjoyable. The only people who should be hating on the first game is people who played it on the PS3 because the framerate was awful, but otherwise it was an enjoyable game to play.
Maybe people were going in thinking it was going to have a deep survival like gameplay, but were disappointed because it wasn't.
