Forums - Nintendo - Will Star Fox bomb on the Wii U? Post your early predictions

Well I would say I don't care if it sells well or not, but truthfully I do, since if it sells poorly then it decreases our chances of seeing another game for awhile. Anyway I think it can do 1.0-1.5 million.

The most recent games have been bad.

If this is good, it could do well.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Star Fox should feature vehicular combat along with third-person cover based combat.

Imagine an opening level where you're tasked with secretly retrieving an important item from an enemy base. You move through the base, on-foot, as Fox until you retrieve the item and steal an enemy ship. As you ascend you send out a signal and Falco, Slippy, and Krystal depart from the mothership to help escort you back. Each sequence should take roughly 10 minutes.

I loved StarFox Adventures on Gamecube. I hope it turns out to be an awesome game, been waiting on a new StarFox for a long time now.

I also skipped the hand held versions.

This!  StarFox Adventures despite its strange ending (because rare had to finish it fast thaks to MS...) was great. And it has the best Fox design ever. (not as arrogant as the modern design)
People were just whiney because they expected something else. Well their fault.

Also saying the series was fucked up and cannot be fixed because of crystal makes no sense you could simply say in the next StarFox game "Crystal left the team after the events of StarFox Adventures" and problem solved. No need to have her come back ever if you dont like her.

The StarFox assault got bad reviews and was no Zelda style game anymore so I didnt bother.  Had not much interest in the DS game either.

Bought the N64 remake on 3ds tho because that was quite cool back on the N64 thanks to some free roaming  like the independence day style map. On rails parts were annoying.

I hope the new star fox is more like   StarWars Roque Squadron/Leader  than it is like old school Starfox.

Tbh on rails is like the most boring thing ever.  If you want keep the space levels between the planets on rails but let the rest be free roaming.

Has anyone thought that maybe it's just too early to tell? For one, we don't know the install base of the Wii U by the time this game releases. I'm predicting that it will get pushed back into early 2016. If the game is good, gets good reviews and is marketed well. I think it could do well, but depending on the treatment ect. ect. It could flop outright.

Not happening.

Most of the recent Starfox's sucked. The DS one was skipped because people really wanted a normal Starfox game on console. Not on a handheld. No one wanted the two on GC cause those were dumb. And reissuing Starfox64 was lame as well. All I want is Starfox 3 that follows from the N64 one.

100% spot on.  Gimme a goddamn starfox sequal to starfox 64. Wasn't the ds starfox some off the wall pos that was nothing like the real game, sf64? Sf64 is one of my all time fav games... Damn, now I'm going to play it on my 3ds right now.... Got the juices flowing!

I didn't mind Adventures it took from Zelda which I liked. Not as good as the others before it I agree. I hope StarFox U brings the series back

Thanks for all the great memories!

The starfox Nintendo is working now for the u, looks to me like they are going as low budget as possible, don't want to actually do it themselves, and that makes me feel like it's going to be a piece of shit game, that when it sells like shit, will lay the series to rest for eternity. Just give me a bonafide sequal to the n64 starfox, with the action cranked up to 1,000, and twin stick controls, one for the ship, one for the aiming, and I'll jump on that mo*******ker fast. But instead, we will get a low budget pile, that is going to be the creation of some misfit unknown third party contracted to slap together a subpar sucky starfox with some game pad control scheme that nobody asked for. Just my two cents.

If Nintendo can actually deliver a quality Starfox game( similar to something like Starfox 64), I think it could sell 1m+ units.

And add a robust multiplayer mode with interchangeable parts for your ship and other customization options, it could be huge hit.
