People. First off, character models in xenoblade were awful as well. The engine of the game is made for gorgeous environments, not really good character models.

What was shown in the trailer was all CGI cut scenes. In Xenoblade, the cutscenes were notoriously bad. What we saw was not indicative of gameplay.

The game still looks great based on the treehouse demo. The game we saw in earlier demos is still there, as good looking as ever. Go watch, and behold.

I think it's just placeholder character models personally... Wait a week and Nintendo will probably start addressing things like that.

It looks the same to me as well. Though, the fade-in pop-in of grass when they're approaching the city right before those 3 monsters (the cutscene) does look rather unattractive. I understand that some ZOOMED in textures and character models look rather meh, but I find it curiously silly to claim that those are definitive signs of "downgrading" when we've never had such things in previous trailers. I guess we'll see what Monolith soft does with their extra time, kinda wanted the game this year, but I suppose the extra time will allow them to patch things up....or not! O_o

The first trailer seemed to have a lot more action and stuff happening very smoothly in terms of FPSs and a very fast paced action. This E3's gameplay, however I can't tell any major downgrades (maybe is not as vibrant as the trailer a year ago), the gameplay seemed more slow and not as exciting. Just my 2 cents anyway. besides I expect this game to be another 720p30fps. As long as they don't drop the fps, it's cool. Not great but cool.
