A guy on NeoGaf literally used a protractor to estimate the sales of each home system.

PS4--185k
PS3--38k

XB1--76k
360--58k

Wii U--60k
Wii--12k

A "meh" month all around, except for the Vita. June shall be more interesting.

You're building a falacy. The pre-order availability of the WiiU/MK8 doesn't really answer anything with regards to the "two days vs. three weeks" issue here.

Pretty sure the 4.1x hardware boost is accounted for in these May numbers.  We got that the MK bundle was 6.6% of software sales.  That puts it at ~25k.  If the sales were evenly distributed it would be 60k/7.1.  That would be about 8.5k for the first three weeks and then 34.5k for the MK week.  If the 4.1x was the week after then it would be a minimum of 100k due to the known number for the MK bundles.  That just doesn't seem remotely realistic.

It can't be accounted for in the May numbers. I highly doubt the WiiU was selling at 8.5k until the last TWO days of the month.

Believe it. The Wii U has been putting up horrendous numbers.

Estimate from Gaf:

WII 13 WIU 61 PS3 37 PS4 198 360 58 XBO 79 3DS 90 PSV 58

not going to lie, pretty disappointed with ps4. mlb and watch dogs and no one else don't that well either. under 200k is pretty bad all things considered.

Both are cross gen games and we all know how that heps move tons of hardware right? And one actually came out a month later to the PS4.

But if it selling around 185k is bad, then what does that make the wiiU and XB1? Ah well, I think people keep forgetting this is just one territory.

To be fair what we had this month?

A late port of a PS3 exclusive(MBL);

and a multiplatform;

It's really great that Watch dogs had this impact on the PS4 only.

what impact?

only impact of watchdog on ps4 is its 45% sales

no significant hardware bump.

sub 150k figure for ps4 without watchdog (bundle)?

now i highly doubt destiny will do much for the ps4 hardware

Sorry, I haven't been following this thread tonight, did we get 3ds estimates yet?

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

Someone break this down for me are we upset at the WiiU numbers? Any Xbone numbers? 61k seems pretty low, I forgot MK8 was only here for 2 days in May.

actually, since ps4 is under 200k you can narrow down the xbox max limit a bit.

if 360 is at 50k  then:   90k > xbox one

if 360 is at 60k then:     80k > xbox one

but  xbone one is certainly less than 90k and even less if ps4 didn't sell 199k.

it says 200k>PS4>170k. so PS4 sold anywhere between 170k and 200k. An average of that would be 185k. It think that is around exactly how much the PS4 sold.

Another simple way to do this would be to take the pie chart, put in the one numebr we know for ceratin being the wiiU number whereever its supposed to fit. Get how much % of that pie it is, then we will thus know the total number of consoles sold... the rest is easy from there.

i'm not trying to guess the ps4

we know ps4 > xbox family + wiiU:  ps4 < 200k, wiiU is 60k.  xbone > 60k.  and 360 > 50k.   maximizing xbone would mean...

200k > xbone + 60k + 50k.     solving for xbone is 90k,.. max.   if ps4 only did 170 than xbone did 60k max.

in short,.. xbone is quite likely just barely above wiiU's 60k because it is unlikely that ps4 did a exactly 199.9k and 360 did exactly 50k.
