So the real question is when does Nintendo do the smart thing, call it quits, and go third party?

Why should they? That's like saying a Victoria Secret model should go date any slob off the street after her movie star boyfriend broke up with her.

She'll have many suitors, if Nintendo wanted to go that route, Apple, Disney, Samsung and many other companies would be lining up to work with them.

MS are likely working on their "Xbox family" PR spin atm.

"Xbox family sold as much as 3DS, that kinda makes us #2 right?"

:p

Still no PR from Microsoft or Sony?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

That is why I m laughing two days out of the whole month of May and it's doomed.   Like I said June is the real indicator a whole month not two days lol

Wii-u is 1.5 years old, it's sales speak for themselves, wii-u is not going to magically boost it in June much at all.

Use simple logic if infamous second son or titanfalls had two days of sells do you think they would move a crazy amount of units hell no .... This isn't even a full week of sales and like someone said earlier people are wearing this like a badge of honor ...June will show if it's a system seller or not ... Not two days lol

U,mmmm....they did.......Infamosu was 2 days and ps4 sales jumped a lot in march, enough to outsell titanfall and x1.

For those curious June so far X1 > PS4 but Sony giving a hell of a fight

I dont think this is true. The PS4 is nr6 at Amazon top 100, Xbone Kinectless is 46 and has been hovering around those numbers for the last week.

He is talking about Gamestop numbers (100% of its data), and usually it's a nice indicator of the whole market... but if the game is even in there, maybe considering all other retaillers in the end PS4 have kept a comfortable lead over X1.

You're right but Gamestop did say they saw a huge bump in Xbone sales but other outlets have yet to make mention of it, it's also neither topping the charts on other outlets.

Regardless of if the numbers were accurate or not, the thread was still spot on. Those overtracked numbers were indeed why Nintendo fans were excited, so I don't see how that's wrong? It's like if I made a thread about how people in Germany thought Hitler was a cool dude. Then they lost and found out he wasn't so cool afterall. It doesn't change the fact that at the time they thought he was cool. I'm pretty confident the majority of the people on this board missed the entire reason of that thread. I blame myself, as I'm used to hanging out at forums that usually have active debates, and this is my first foray into the world of console warriors.

And I did think those numbers were worldwide, so it's lining up with my expectations by pure chance do to misunderstanding.

This is exactly what you are doing in this thread though.  In your hypothetical you'd be calling people fools for ever believing in Hitler, and that it is impressive he didn't lose until '45.

My issue is less with your initial thread, and more with your attempt in this thread to whitewash the numbers.  The VGC numbers were accepted by you until it turned out that the actual numbers were much lower.  Then all of a sudden people were fools for expecting higher numbers, and the significantly lower numbers are impressive.

Why did I just have the feeling that Wii U would be overtracked in the US?

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

while its far from the biggest reason why the Vita sells have been terrible the small amount that Sony ships to stores doesn't help in the slightest

Yes, it's a factor but it's not that far from the biggest reason. Casual potential buyers can sometimes get into a product just by looking at the shelves, some kind of advertisment in the point of sale. The vita is usually sold online, which doesn't help spreading its existence.

yeah like i bought my Vita off of Amazon though i mainly did with gift cards and if i had actual cash instead i would of bought it in a store like i did with all my other consoles

Sony doesn't really have to do anything. MS, on the other hand.... they're awfully quiet.

Sooo. Is this like the first time ever we dont get any numbers at all? We only got WiiU HW, no SW or other HW yet O.o
