Forums - Gaming - Even the Playstation TV is outselling the $399.99 Xbox One

Why downplay Amazon? They're not a perfect way of gauging sales but over the past year we've seen that, at least in hardware, they offer a good indication of the general trends.

The X1 being that low is not good for MS. I think that $399 will do nothing so let's say that happens. What does MS do? Another price cut? More bundles? Give up?

I am very surprised how well Playstation TV is doing.

If you are gonna check hourly sales you should also see the overal sales, gives a better indication. Hourly sales are always going up and down and fluctuating, its more are less more competitive then daily sales since Number 1 is always something different depending on circumstances, last i checked hourly Phantom Pain was 7 Uncharted 4 was 1. http://www.amazon.com/bestsellers/videogames hourly
http://www.amazon.com/bestsellers/2014-06/videogames Overall bestselling in June updated everyday
http://www.amazon.com/bestsellers/2014/videogames 2014 as a whole

Those poor baby seals.

Let's just wait and see if Playstation Tv will hold on to great sales in the future. Thread might be premature

Praise the One.

GameStop CEO says the $399 Xbox One is flying off the shelves. but his word should be taken with a grain of salt.

Anyway.. Amazon never a good indicator of anything... As I have said.. games that sit in their top 3 spots for a month do NOT even show up in the top ten of ACTUAL NPD sales..

It should.  Xbox One's can't fly.

Software is also interesting.

The $150 The Order Premium Edition is higher than every single X1 software apart from Masterchief Collection, and has reached a higher position than X1 without Kinect ever did.

I haven't seen any adverts about MS dropping Kinect in the UK

I've seen a few adverts, including some during the England games.

Wut, really? It must be because it hasn´t the Vita name in it.

Not good for Xbox One.

How many Amazon threads are we going to have?

This is now AmazonChartz.com

I'm just gonna wait to see how the new SKU impacts weekly sales. I hear the Vita was #1 on Amazon at one point. How'd that turn out?

They probably rebranded it to look more like "Apple TV" and "Fire TV", a set top box with the added bonus of playing some real games (because let's face it, even with partial support to the full Vita library it is still ages ahead of the regular iOS/Android games), so it has its appeal. Marketing it as a console won't work against the massive PS3 library for the late adopters or the PS4 power for the early adopters. Marketing it as a Vita won't atract anyone, since people looking for a Vita want something portable.

I wonder if it wouldn't do well in 3rd world countries as a low cost console. US$ 99 would basically make it as cheap as a PS2 in countries where the PS3 still costs a lot. Add to it the PS Plus free games, some cheap indie titles and some retail AAA like KZ and it could be a hit. Of course, they would have to cut the price for memory cards or at least bundle a decent 8/16 GB one.
