Forums - Sales - Which version of Grand Theft Auto IV are you gonna

Thanks for agreeing, identical save the 2 paid for parts of episodic content.

Which you have to pay for.

So you want the ability to buy these two specific episodes, buy the 360 version.

Again, I have both consoles. The PS3 version is the one I'll buy.

Have you bought a PS3 game yet madskillz?

Here's the entire quote, bots ...

Fans looking to own the "complete" Grand Theft Auto IV experience will also have to own an Xbox 360. So says Rockstar Games spokesman Hosi Simon anyway, in a short interview posted over at Games Radar that has the entire Internet talking.

Upon being asked whether there were any discernible advantages for PS3 owners that could compare to the Xbox 360 downloadable content, Simon replied "not that I can think of."

"They're identical games. We're not hardware makers, and we're not like a pawn between these companies, we try not to be as much as we can. We make great games for people to enjoy on whichever system they want. But I guess if you want the complete experience with the episodes, then yeah, you should buy the 360, I suppose."

Already posted on the last page.

Doesn't really matter.  I have never completed a Grand Theft Auto game before anyway, and I've owned every single one.  The whole point of the game is the exploration and finding out everything about it.  The story, as usual will be a thinly veiled attempt to get you to press on.  And most people will stop playing the story once they get to the point of unlocking all of the places in the game, then just explore until their hearts content.  But again, that doesn't matter either, because I'd rather miss out on some 'episodic content' (that we still don't know what is) and not worry about not being able to compelte my game because MY SYSTEM IS MADE FROM CRAP.

Nevermind then, the real question is, what console will I buy Street Fighter IV on?!!

I'm gonna get the 360 version =)

ps3 version, i dont like to have the ability to buy a other version because i can pay money to get extra stuff. I dont like to pay for a game i already paid :) (thats also if it was @ ps3 i just wouldnt buy the exra content).

Actually, I'm kinda torn on GTA IV. I hate the way Microsoft is going about this, paying money to make one version inferior. It bugs the hell out of me and I kinda want to buy the PS3 version just to spite them. It just stinks too much of their dirty tactics when it comes to Windows and I don't like seeing that from the Xbox division.

Additionally, both of my roommates own PS3s but no 360s. If I want to play the MP aspect of the game with them, I'd have to get the PS3 version... at the same time, it seems likely to me that if one version performs better than the other, then it'll be the 360 version.

No clue which version I'll actually get. If performance really is equal across the two versions, then I'll just get the PS3 version to spite Microsoft for the way they've been behaving this generation. If the 360 version performs noticeably better (like in Assassin's Creed), then I'll suck it up and buy that version.

I would just say if you have both consoles, just wait and see what the DLC for the 360 version will be. If it's worth it to you to have it, then go 360. Since I dont have a 360, I'm going to get the PS3 version. Yeah, its a disappointing not get that DLC, but oh well.

Who the hell wants to wait and see for the DLC? The first episode doesn't come out until August and I'm buying GTA IV the day it comes out.
