Gran Turismo 5 won't arrive in UK until 2009

Leading video game retailer confirms long wait for the highly anticipated PS3 racing simulation.

In an email sent to customers, GAME, a leading retailer of video games, has confirmed Gran Turismo 5 won't be released this year, with European PlayStation 3 gamers having to wait until 2009.

"The legendary "Real Driving Simulator" Gran Turismo 5 is heading to PlayStation 3 in 2009, utilising the uber-console's raw horsepower to generate an unrivalled level of realism," states the GAME email.

The email does, however, promote the March 28 release of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, which will be priced only £19.99. This early teaser will feature five tracks and 40 cars, plus 16-player online racing.

Gran Turismo 5 currently has a tentative 2008 release date in both Japan and North America.

No surprises here, lol. Typical Sony delaying games again and again. Same old story. MGS4, Kill Zone 2 and Resistance 2 to be delayed as well. Amen. Charge you twenty quid to play a demo in GT5 prologue? Typical Sony.

still bad for Sony

I rly doubt MGS4 will be delayed again

Same for Haze

KZ2 will be release this year

Same for Resistance2

Same for home/LBP

FFXIII ==> 09

React with not purchasing PS3 console until GT5 is released. Out of all their exclusives: Kill Zone 2, Resistance 2, MGS4, Little Big Planet and GT5.
GT5 will sell the most titles and will move the most PS3 consoles.
Sony's loss is...... Microsoft and Nintendo's gain.

I think they try to convince people to buy GT5P It's pretty pointless to buy Prologue version if you will get full product in 6 months or so... If you have to wait a year it's a different story. Definitely this info will boost GT5P sales. Also they want to sell GT game to the biggest userbase possible. I'm pretty shocked people are surprised.
