I don't use any racial slurs, and I don't expect to be the target of any. If there are some people that get offended, and some that don't, then just don't say it. Surely that's more reasonable than spouting it out, and saying "oops" if it offends.

on this matter my opinion is that its nto nice to say by a teacher but hey its just the same as calling a white dude white. I guess its something american but in my oppinion everybody should be able to call everybody a nigger, if no-one cares the entire use of the word is gone and we can all be happy friends. Meh. Looks to me like the kid was doing something he wasn't supposed to, the teacher told him to stop whatever it was, the kid replied or continued talking and used nigger, the teacher was surprised to hear such a low-register word in the classroom, repeated himself and added niggah with the intended effect of "you're not supposed to use words like that in class, dumbass".

Alternatively the kid said something else, and the teacher heard him wrong. Pretty likely since he seemed rather polite, which would also explain why the teacher was so surprised.

One exact same word can have different meaning based on the context, be it voice tone, who says it, to whom it's said, voice loudness, ...

That's why a voiced over drama can become a comedy, that's even why humorists can exist. Only racist or stupid people could say sth as stupid as "Black people, though, have to decide if it's offensive or not. It can't be non offensive when a black sais it and offensive when a white sais it".

And even making the supposition that the guy and his friends call each other "niggers", I doubt the teacher is one of his friend, and I also doubt the guy called his teacher "nigger". And unless the teacher calls his family members "nigger", or all his students like that, explain to me exactly how come he used the word in this instance.

The same racist or stupid moniker can be applied to people that say "it's only words". Well right, people can be banned on this very forum and lots of others everywhere, for using "only words". Some people die for "only words".
