It was far more entertaining than the live ones. I liked it. The Smash tournament was cool too.

I just realize the same! The feedback of the Digital Event is going far better!

I'm really thinking about it, so I want to share some of my ideas with you all.

How Nintendo is changing the E3 conferences.

Hello everybody!

Well, I guess someone will think that I am a new guy, but I visit this forum since two years ago, but I never commented anything. But now, I decide to wake up from the shadows to talk about something I thought past the E3’s conferences this year: How Nintendo just built a new format of E3 conferences.

As we can see in this thread: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=184804

Nintendo is winning the poll by more than 50% of the votes, and I think this result can be not just for the games they showed, but for the format of the Digital Event, but first, let’s talk about the other conferences.

First, Microsoft came out with the propose to expose nothing more than games, and they did it: They exposed one game after another, but the way they chosen were so… boring. Every time they showed a trailer, so someone went up the floor to explain something about the game or show a commented gameplay. After a few presentations, it became so boring and repetitious, and the people just not absorbed the entire conference, plus that they didn’t showed a great megaton, like they did last year with Titanfall.

Second, we have Sony and his almost 2 hours of conference. At the start, they began almost like Microsoft did, with trailers and someone explaining the gameplay. So, that vice-president came, and started to talk about peripherals, TV, You tube, TV, series, movies, TV (Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz), it just nearly ruined everything! If it wasn’t the very good trailers of Mortal Kombat, Batman and Uncharted 4 in the end, that conference will be nothing more than a piece of shit! Someone need to tell Sony that BIGGER doesn’t mean BETTER. Despite that, WHERE IS PS VITA??? I know, Nintendo didn’t talk too much about 3DS as well, but 3DS still in a better shape than Wii U, that needed a bigger attention, the attention that vita was screaming to have, but Sony just abandoned it, however, the Vita’s situation – killed by his own creator – is subject for another thread.

So now, we are now in Nintendo’s Digital Event. It was short and compact, they used some presentations really good like the fight between Iwata and Reggie, they explored the same formula of someone explaining a game, but used different places as a background (and not the same background all the time), that make it more comfortable to be watched, it's not became boring like the others. The transitions used that amazing stop motion show with Nintendo’s main characters was really good to everyone have a little time to absorb all the stuff showed before, and prepare to more things that will come, making this digital event more interesting to the audience than a traditional press conference. Furthermore, I think that Digital Event was far more cheaper than a normal press conference, and it’s another argument to be add at this really positive feedback we have now.

So, people, what do you think? Can be these Digital Events the future of the E3? Or it will be just a Nintendo way to show their games?

That is your opinion and there is nothing wrong with it. Most gamers don't share it however. Digital events are nothing to write home about.

No! It's fact! You understand me?! A GODDAMN FACT!!!

...

Anyways, who are you to speak for "most" gamers?

Hell, even GAF, who shat on Nintendo's E3 plans are praising the Digital Event + Treehouse format.

Conference may be better for the press and those in attendance but D.E. + Treehouse is better for internet streamers.  The internet is here, and has been for a long time. Time to make the way information is presented at E3 better.

I'm willing to bet Sony/MS will go down this path soon.

That would be a losing bet. Nintendo went digital because it's audience has shrunk considerably thanks to the WiiU. Should they ever have a successful console, they would be right back on the stage.

You actually dont believe that yourself, do you?

abso-fucking-lutely.

The live events were full of crappy presenters, technical difficulties, fake demos, and clearly pushed 'ooooh ahhhh'. It was so crappy.

Nintendo's showed better quality demo/trailers with excellent humor and scripting. A far better experience. On top of that they continued the innovation with the regular live feed on the floor with great reveals and interviews.

That is how it is done and I'll be pissed if they ever go back.

I for one can't wait for Sony and Microsoft to catch up with the times and follow Nintendo's lead.

45 minutes? No way. Going by SONYs and MSs conference they showed over 20 games each. I could count at least a couple games on each side that I might like. Nintendos digital event? Less than a dozen showed. I _might_ like 1 game from what they showed, and thats still a big if. The Zelda reveal (not looks, idgaf about the looks at this point) was bad. It either showed no gameplay or that gameplay is going to be garbage. Nintendo digital events go to the heart of what is wrong with Nintendo's strategy, lack of games.

I still would prefer a conference, plus it wasnt long enough. Nintendo announced 4 game so far after the event? Why the hell were they not included?
