I wouldn't get your hopes up. MS had a good conference showing lots of games. Nothing shocking and not enough gameplay footage of the exclusives they announced, but a good overall conference.

I don't think Naughty Dog would ever show a CGI Trailer, completely out of character for them. |
Isn't virtually all of ND's movies done on the in-game engine, anyway? Don't think they've showcased any of Uncharted or TLOU, just via pre-rendered CGI. Could be wrong though.
Sony seem to have quite the venue and will easily trump MS in pure spectacle. Furthermore, there was absolutely zero megatons and the only really impressive gameplay demos came from Ubisoft with AC Unity and The Division and none are exclusive to their platform.
This is the sony venue for those who's wondering:

Well if showing The Last Guardian is "having it in the bag" then I would suppose so.
I think they'll match up about equally. Both will be around 7.5/10. Nintendo is a wildcard, They could do utter shit or they could come out guns blazing.

I feel that Sony needs to announce a huge surprise or two to beat MS handily. While MS did a very good job, they played a bit too safe.

I'm sorry, but I am beginning to wonder if something is wrong with me or if something is wrong with everyone else. Microsofts solid performance???????? Can someone pls tell me what was "solid" about this show? Or does showing mostly multiplats and CG make a solid performance? Hell, even their halo 5 was a 15sec CGI clip. |
They announced/showed games back to back for 90 minutes with no BS from executives. It was just developers up on stage demoing their games, which is exactly what I like to see from a press conference.
Sure there was an overuse of CG for quite a few games, but I appreciated the fact that there were so many games (decent split between multiplats and exclusives) was commendable. Keep in mind that I understand in this day and age 3rd parties rarely go exclusive and I don't expect them to show 90 minutes of 1st party exclusives. Even Sony with their worldwide studios couldn't do that. So I'm happy with seeing multiplats being premiered in these conferences as long as there are exclusives to go along with them.
They will have a good E3 aswell but we all know there are several people on here that will say sony won by miles. I can already see them making threads about it. There is that 1 game that they will see and flip and rush back here just to make a thread about it.
I hope there is uncharted actual gameplay. I would love a teaser for a last of us sequel but i think its too early for that.

It's not just that MS showed a lot of games we knew about, they showed almost nothing but multiplats and most of the exclusives they did show either already had gameplay vids for them or they were only cgi trailers. I'd point out the same thing for Sony if they don't show gameplay of Uncharted.
