Every year, when E3 approaches, most PlayStation gamers gather around the hope of a re-reveal of The Last Guardian. This year perhaps the rumors concerning a possible demonstration of the game are even stronger, with Sony‘s Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida mentioning that it was progressing well and he “couldn’t remember on which platform he played”; many guessed a potential PS3/PS4 release.
However, just two days before Sony’s E3 2014 press conference, two different tweets from Russian journalists Andrey Zagudaev and Petr Salnikov who work or used to work at GMBox.ru are hinting at a possible cancellation of the game.
The first one simply says
The Last Guardian is over, boys
While the other is a bit more elaborate:
There is a legitimate rumor that The Last Guardian has been canceled.
