I thought wolfenstein was going to be a complete flop,but it sold more then I thought. according 2 vgchartz,it sold 779,166 on all platforms,during it's first week. it's obviously pass 800,000 during it's second week. it'll eventually be a slow burn to a million. It's not super impressive compared to the AAA games,but it is for a sp only game. I thought the franchise was all but dead,but obviously not. I've never played any of the games,but I might bye this,when it reaches $20. Did the game sell more then what you thought? what are your thoughts on my thoughts?

I thought so too. I didn't think that the game was going to sell that much on its first week.

Sadly I doubt that will be considered a success for the game. Not unless it has strong legs and also did well digitally. MachineGames is a small studio (~60 devs but they outsourced quite a bit) but after 4 years of development and a decent marketing campaign they will probably need to sell ~2 million to really be considered a success.

Buy it now, it's old school! It's been a while since I've actually been entertained by cut scenes and have bothered to 'color in' every section of the map.

Helps when there is nothing else to play on next gen right now. I'm considering buying it myself and the only 2 Fps games I've ever enjoyed were Goldeneye and Blops2.

Really surprised but after all the stellar reviews its getting, good on it, and keep going.

I may one day play it since it reminds me of FPS games from the golden years. Not like the incredibly linear stuff we get today.

With that logic a lot of games should have sold better.

Personally, I'm surprised the Wolfenstein has clout. I thought it would push people away.

I just hope Shadow Warrior sells even better

It's actually already over a million now. The database seems to already have next weeks sales in it.

I intend to pick this game up and I think it should do about 2-3mil lifetime. It's probably on about 1.2mil right now if we include console digital and sales from STEAM which aren't tracked by this site.

It sold a lot more than I expected. I bet they spent a ton on all the advertising though.  BTW, the game is amazingly good and deserves the sales, and I hope MG gets to make another one.  It is prob the best SP FPS I have played since HL2.  Already on 3rd playthrough and platinum'd it in 11 days.
