Forums - Sales - Halo 3 perorders 4 million?

Around the Network

I agree hehe.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Question of the year: When VGChartz has the weekly number for H3, how many X360s will sell that week? IMO, I see 300k systems sold via their numbers on the first week, with drops to 200k, 175k, and staying around 175k for the next 2 weeks before Christmas.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

When I first read it, I was like "OMG!", but after i thought about it, it made sences.

The people who bought a 360 are likely to buy Halo 3. These people are also likely to pre-order a game. I assum it will push systems, but this 4 million is likely from people who own a 360(atleast 75%).

I just read this: http://www.xe360.com/article/Halo_3/3837.html

Is it really feasible?

wooowww.

what a bait and switch scenario.

no one in japan would preorder a copy of Halo3.

same goes to europe.

no one would preorder an x360 game.

Europe has fallen to Sony again but Wii is giving Sony a run no doubt.

In US...............do you think all of 5 m or so x360 users would even buy Halo3???

all of ps3's big guns are coming out starting from june 2007.

4 million preorder?????

it is more like 400 000 at best.

with a user base of 21 million for xbox 6 million copies of halo3 were sold.

with a user base of less than 10 million (with 50% users being highly disappointed) a 3 million copies of Halo3 is the best case scenario.

Although gamespot says the numbers are bogus i think with the right advertising and hype they could reach this number in preorders. Mainly because halo is one of those games that everyone into the series gets really hyped for then goes out and buys on the first day. Then the sales for it aren't as impressive after that kind of like wow:bc and doom 3. Nintendo games on the other hand seem to sell o.k for ages and end up selling heaps like nintendogs and nsmb.

Legend11 : "the 5th millionth unique Halo Player logged on to play a game two days ago.)" Where did you get this data from? Bungie? That's interesting, but how about "change your gamertag" feature? Would there be a mess in the count? 5 million is great by the way.

"Moments ago, we watched the odometer of Halo 2 players roll over the 5,000,000 mark. Today also happens to be the 2.5-year anniversary of launch. Here's to continued growth of 2 million players per year!

If you're curious, "ultra theodore" is the 5 millionth player.

(This number refers to the number of unique Live accounts that have played Halo 2 online, not including guests)"
