Forums - Gaming - Dead Rising 3 is Coming to Steam

I really dont like when MS does these sort of "timed/MS" exclusives cause given the choice between x1, ps4, wiiu and PC I would choose PC every time so having a game for PC that's also on X1 gives me less reasons to get an X1. One of the main reasons I chose the wii and ps3 last gen was cause they had the most amount of games that couldn't be played on pc and it might be the same this gen too but we will see

It would be pretty strange if true. The last thing the X1 needs right now is one of its exclusive titles becoming available on the PC :/

Would be pretty cool though. DR3 had some pretty shitty frame rate issues sometimes because of the zombie count, a PC version would give people the opportunity to play it without those issues.

As if there is proof porting exclusive games to the PC hurts Xbox? I believe MS is supporting Windows with more games to discourage people from using SteamOS. Another example of why competition is good.

DR3 is poorly optimized. The game had frame drops even when little was on screen.

Then I guess pc version of quantum break, sunset overdrive and halo 5 wont hurt Xbox One.

Not if its released 18 months after or so.

not impossible BUT: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/02/04/halo-3-and-other-titles-sighted-in-steam-database

No Halo 1-3, no Second Life, no Quantum Conundrum 2, no Angry Birds Seasons and that link is about 1 1/2 years old.

But DR3's entry was more detailed (before being changed). With the banner and all. Those entries never had any of that

actually if the user has multiple offences shouldn't they all be reported? certainly when there is prior behaviour?

EDIT : let me clarfy reporting is about the offence not the user

I don't believe PC versions of those games will have any impact on Xbox One.

If you wanna make a good argument, just name some games that did poorly on consoles because they launched with a PC version. Last time I checked some of the best selling 8th gen games have PC ports.

QD certainly could (based on the past), but i'd be very surprised if SO or Halo 5 did. Insomniac have never been much involved with the PC market, i think they only have 1 facebook game if that counts. Not to mention their current deal appears to be that they get to keep the IP, but MS will fully fund it in exchange for exclusivity. That's already a very generous deal, it also being a timed exclusive with PC would seem odd.

As for Halo 5, someone over at MS would need to be high as a kite to allow that on PC :P It's the X1's biggest exclusive title, making it readily available to anyone with a half way decent PC would be crazy. Unless MS plan on sacrificing some of the Xbox brand's strength in exchange for a stronger PC presence, i can't see it happening at all.

I guess Microsoft stays Microsoft after all, even under Phil Spencer direction.

That explains what Phil said about bringing more games to PC...

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Only way it would really hurt Xbox is if the games released on Xbox One and PC at the same time. Releasing games on PC after the sales have died down on the Xbox One does not hurt it at all.
