i wasnt expecting this so soon. 6months seem fast. Has MS said anything recently that has been true?

| Zekkyou said: I assume you simply looked at the total sales numbers for Microsoft Game Studios on the 360? I'd suggest you read the list of games, because an awful lot of those games aren't 1st party ^^; MS tracked quite far behind Sony and Nintendo for 1st party sales last gen, even if you include the bundled Kinect game (which made up quite a sizable chunk of their 1st party sales). |
Go do the math and show us your conclusion.

Its a great thing for people who game on Windows and has no real impact on Xbox. Furthermore, I believe MS feels pressure to put games on Windows with SteamOS being a potential competitor. |
I can say with 99% certantity that Gaming is not a significant factor in the sale of MS's OSes.
If its just DR3, it probably won't matter, if they do it with more games it will have an impact on Xbox, because its exclusive library will shrink, since PS4 has the multiplat advantage, XB1's exclusive library is of paramount importance.
Hell, DR3 is being sold on Steam, GFWL is dead, Fable 3 was the last game I played on it

Its not positive at all, Steam gets the distribution money, and those sales reduce how many copies MS sells, "Gaming" on Windows basically has nothing to do with Xbox, and little to do with Microsoft, the OS is about as involved as VGChartz is with the Ads on the site.
I doubt MS is even purposely doing this, which means that MS is not spending enough on complete exclusivity.

I am actually very happy for this. I only wanted DR3 so far and now I can get it on Steam. Thanks MS.

Plus i clearly knew you were stealth trolling so good luck doing a better job next time. I can easily name a ton of xbox exclusives that never made it to pc. Microsoft will support pc but they wont bring every single xbox exclusive over to pc. |
Took me a while to find this, let me explain why its not the same.
"You can play their exclusives on other devices. " PS gets paid for all of these, but I really only need to say Not PS4 Games
"Why buy a ps system when you know they will be bringing the titles to ps now?" The only games of previous generations will be on PS NOW, the subscription service is a playstation service you are paying Sony to use, its essentially a virtual console.
"I can easily name a ton of xbox exclusives that never made it to pc." a statement that could easily be made for any of the Big 3, however the XB1 is not backwards compatible so all of those exclusives are pretty much moot.
"Microsoft will support pc but they wont bring every single xbox exclusive over to pc." Microsoft makes OSes, but allowing a game on PC wouldn't be a reasonable decision for MS to make, I doubt they are. I doubt they will allow more XB exclusives on PC, but it really depends on how much they want to pay.

Most people using Windows aren't doing it for gaming. Regardless, many millions of people game on Windows. That's definitely not an audience MS wants to ignore and that's why we're seeing increased support and encouraging gamers to stay on Windows.
Its pretty much a guarantee MS will be porting more games and they'll be available on Steam. It impact will have little impact, just like 360 ports had little if any impact.
It doesn't matter if Steam gets money, they deserve it. Steam single handedly revitalized gaming on Windows. Now MS needs to make moves to discourage gamers from moving away from Windows.
If MS pays less for exclusives by allowing publishers to put them Windows, they're smart to do that. Especially if they don't allow those games on any other OS but Windows.

Ps4 games will eventually make it over to ps now at some point in time. It might not be within a year or 3 but they will just like ps3 games are. It increases the chances of making more money from games that didn't sell well. It is a smart way of doing it but in the end it is a similar thing as bringing xbox games to pc. You dont need a ps console to play games on ps now and that is the bottom line.

He's right you are comparing 2 different things. PS Now is about games past that will not sell anymore, Dead Rising is a new game that was one of the reasons to purchase the X1.

It's a bit harder to add Sony's up because VGC list them under multiple names, but doing some quick adding up MS are sitting at about 85 - 90 million for 1st party studios/IP and Sony 125 - 130 million. A pretty big difference considering the "been on the market a year longer" argument ^^
Also worth noting that Halo accounts for 40% to 50% of all those sales. On one hand it shows how crazy huge Halo is, and on the other hand shows MS are rather reliant on it 1st party wise.
Anyway, we are getting way off topic. Let's just leave this discussion be.

This is the one already released xb1 game I was most jealous of, can't wait to pick this up [in a Christmas steam sale]
