I've never really played an Animal Crossing game and I've only seen trailers of Tomodachi life... but I thought they looked substantially different.

I don't think it will. It'll probably flop here in the west, not selling more than 300k in America and 200k in Europe. But I could be wrong and it could sell tons of 3dses. We'll see in only a couple of days.

it has received pretty extensive advertising on children's networks so hopefully that helps.

I hope so... but 3DS life is about to slow down.... maybe 2017 a new portable console!

I hope it beat GBA sales but.... I am not sure anymore... all main games are out and tbh - gaming market is now limited to what we see now....

of course I am expecting 3 great games each year until 2017. SSB and Pokemon remakes are this years titles.

It's a weird game for the West. I've been freaked out by most of the videos really, and they're targetting kids which is even worse imo. It will be a massive flop imo, but hey I could use a surprise every now and then.

The clerk told me they were nearly sold out...
Sure it's anecdotal evidence of success, but perhaps this won't be the flop so many seem to expect...
