The past weeks, nay, months, for the 3DS haven't been too pretty. With no major games to create traction and get some high sales, 3DS seems to be falling to the pits of the sales chart, where it ruled last year. We all know SSB and Hoenn remakes will cause a huge buzz and probably sell tons of 3DS's, but what about the upcoming Tomodachi Life? This could be a huge title and eventual big franchise, and it's coming out this Friday. The reason I think it could get some units selling not only for itself but for the 3DS is because it is a very similar title to Animal Crossing. Sales for Animal Crossing below:

3. Animal Crossing City Folk-4.54m

4. Animal Crossing-3.15m

With Tomodachi Life being like Animal Crossing and potentially better, it could easily help sales. I'm not expecting it to fly off shelves week one though, but over time I believe it could become an extremely powerful gun for Nintendo if this first one is marketed right. What do you guys think

hopefully it does help it, selling 80k a week is a disgrace for the 3DS

they need to try and get the Japanese games such as monster hunter, youkai watch and that dragon quest remake out in the west faster, those would help sales in the west a bit.

I still dont get what this game is about... like by the looks of it, its animal crossing on drugs

Like pikashoe said they need to port those games over. There was massive massive amount of 3ds's being thrown off shelves when pokemon released, and it was the same time they released like Bravely Default, and a few other games, and it was THE system, but after that they let the momentum die :C

nah the game is too weird for a western audience. it will be niche

Nobody was talking about the game until the big scandal surrounding same-sex relationships surfaced. I doubt it will be a big seller.

I'm sure there are a lot of people who will not buy it only because of the same-sex issues.
