Forums - Nintendo - Anyone else really dislike the new quick start feature on Wii U?

You can turn it off.

No, is wonderful. But you can turn it off anyway

i love it.the system turns on as soon as u hit the button whats not to like?

It works for me now, I had issues with it at first. But quick start feature is pretty good.

As for the eshop game searching, yea I'm with you there. Some of the older games are harder to find but it's easy finding the latest stuff. The search bar doesn't work properly and is a hassle to use.

I would hate it if it wasn't optional. But I love options. Configuration is king.

I thought I would hate the three minute cooldown thing at first, but when I saw how much spam and retarded drivel it cleared up, I became a believer. I'm all for it now. If you have something to say, sum it all up in one post. Otherwise, it can wait.

Actually it does make things quicker. On a console where every application start(even that of the fucking system settings) takes 3 weeks any quickstart feature is heaven. It gets me a lot faster where I want to go when I start up the console.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

How?

But that is not the point. It really quick starts nothing. Why waste funds on making this feature? Making me turn it off.

Nothing? In mine now: Internet Browser, Mass Effect 3, Toki Tori 2, Abyss, Monster Hunter 3 and more

Considering I almost exclusively turn on my Wii U to use Netflix, this is really useful. I don't have to wait for the system to load up the main menu, then wait for Netflix to load. I can just hit the button and start Netflix up, then come back when it's ready.

(Now if only they would release an update that makes Netflix work consistently. I don't know if other people are having the same problem I am, but it will only successfully connect to the service about 20% of the time.)

Currently playing:

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9

Turn it on with a regular Wii controller and it boots up like the old times.

Not sure why you dislike speed. You must be like the turtles from the AT&T(?) commercial.
