Forums - Nintendo - Ubisoft Reconfirms Watch Dogs For Fall 2014 Release On Wii U

will buy it with some delay for a fraction of usual price

Preordered it on Wii U ages ago, still waiting but I'm gonna have a download code for the PC version as they offered it if you bought Nvidia GPUs, which I just did, I had no idea I would get that game on PC though :P

Given the success it's only natural. I wonder how it would have contributed to the reported 4 mil in sales had it released with the other iterations.

From the look of the pre-orders, it could still push out a 100,000 plus first Week. But there has to be a solid release date. With word of mouth, maybe even a lot more! I hope. This is pretty much Ubisofts last game for Wii U unless it sells well I think. 400,000 or more copies I feel.

400,000?

For me even 700,000...

I'll most likely pick it up on Wii U. Looks like a fun game.

Good. I anticipate it to be a better experience than on 360/PS3.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

If they release the Wii U version for 29.99 then I'll buy it, because by the time this game is out on Wii U the other versions will be 19.99

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

I'm willing to consider buying it... but only if they provide more to compensate for the fact it'll be releasing so much later than the other versions, and/or a noticeable price cut compared with the other versions. Without at least one of these concessions, they will have sent the game out to die, and I have no interest in supporting their actions in such a situation.

There will be enough games on my to-buy list that Watch Dogs needs to be more than just the PS3 version with a few touchpad functions tacked on, at the same price that the other versions have already launched at. Note that I bought Rayman Legends as my first non-bundled game (got premium Wii U, so I got NintendoLand with the system), and I've also bought CoD:G, ACIII, and Sonic Lost World, so nobody can accuse me of failing to support third parties, and especially Ubisoft. And there are titles we already know about from third parties that have my interest, and there's going to be more coming from E3 (for instance, I'm really interested to see what Natsume has in store).

I probably would have bought Watch Dogs either at release or some time this month (due to Mario Kart 8, which was going to get precedence for obvious reasons), if Ubisoft had given me the opportunity.

Lol, no. No I won't.

I will have to pick up two copies then.

Let me change that. When it's on sale for $20 on the eshop in a year, I'll maybe think about it.

What about when it's on sale in stores for $20 in three months, or in the eShop after half a year? :)

Well said, well said. This sums up how I feel about it too.

Release a solid port with extra content or price reduction: I buy immediately or soon afterward

Release a shitty excuse of a port with no incentives: pick it up cheap after a few months
