Yes they suck, but they suck a bit less this time. Triple reds are rare for 2nd or 3rds to get. A single red you will almost always be able to block. Unless of course somene threw a flash just before -.-
Not even mentioning that half of the reds are defeated by the environment.

A bit less this time? You can't be saying Red Shells in MK8 are less powerful than in MK7, especifically after I explained how only the opposite is true! Being rare to get doesn't change the fact that you insta die when they do get it, which they will, and the coin item makes it so you cannot always block a single red. Plus there's the whole two red shells in a row thing. And much more often than not, Red Shells will find you!

Then we have different experiences. If you are in front then reds are rare enough either to be blocked by bananas or green shells or by the environment. If you are at 4th or lower and the probability of reds increases the race is meaningless anyway.

Getting triple red shells while in 2nd place is never fun... for the person in front of me!

Yeah. MK8 isn't without a couple flaws. The coin item is arguably the single most useless in the series. And not being able to have two items at once, is pretty lame. Not "man this ruins the game" lame. But yes, I've experienced the new "Red Shell Blues". Not fun. lol

I've actually had more red shell alarms start then stop cos it crashed or whatever than I did in MKWii.

I get killed by more green shells than red ones because of that reason. Probably like 4:1.

Yeah, same. I have learned to dodge whenever I hear a shell approach, which I didn't bother doing in MKWii.

And there is a small flaw in the sound design. The sound of an approaching green shell is very similar to the sound of drifting in zero-g. I alomost always fall for that.

Hahaha yes, so many times when i zero-g drift I think a shell is on my tail.

I have learned that it is just the drifting noise, but when I do get hit by a shell I curse the heavens.

Acceleration doesn't matter. If it did, heavies wouldn't dominate in every match.

This is because they've increased the range, so you'll hear the alarm even when it's actually targeting someone else behind you.
