I'm with Kitler on this, i dont think Rockstar officially owed sony anything. Otherwise we would have seen the benefits of that.

Quite frankly i think the only thing Sony has with Rockstar is some exclusive bundles.

...and correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't the gta IV dlc timed exclusive to 360.  the gay al and leather biker ones.

Yeah the Ballad of Gay Tony and Lost and Damned DLC's didn't release for ~6 months on PS3/PC following release on 360.

yeah, those.

now i know MS payed (a rumored) 50 million for that but that is a pretty shit deal to make for a company that is supposedly going to give three exclusives to playstation just out of good will...

Rockstar are interested in one thing and thats money and I really don't see them caring about how the PS2 brought them loads of success in the past and using it as a reason to be best buds with sony. If they did care about such things they wouldn't have taken microsofts money and released exclusive timed DLC on the 360.

It probably wasn't goodwill, Sony probably released them from GTA exclusivity, for some other exclusive 'something'.  Whether that's 3 titles or  not remains to be seen.  I can't imagine Sony would release them from an obligation like that, for anything less.  Worth way way more than the 50m Microsoft paid.

Well, they must have had some sort of contract with them about Agent and even Rockstar can't just say "lol, we won't make the game anymore" and get out of it like that, so they could very well owe Sony something (which they might have payed back already), assuming of course that Agent doesn't exist or isn't exclusive anymore.

Perhaps they did have some sort of agreement in place for Agent.

But i dont think its in place anymore. Releasing an exclusive in this market is too much of a sacrifice for Rockstar. Every game they make sells at least 10 million. In my opinion, Rockstar would have done everything they could to get out of any exclusive deals...perhaps Sony now has exclusive bundling rights for all GTA games or exchanged Agent for something less grand.

From Sony's point of view, i think they know that Rockstar most probably wont do an exclusive, they would rather break the agreement/contract imo which is possible. So instead of fight it, which might turn ugly and end up backfiring on Sony, rather get what they can out of the deal. The exclusive GTA5 ps3 bundle did really well. And if they have something like that going forward..then at least Sony comes away with something to show from the whole situation.

So yeah i dont think its a matter of "lol we dont feel like making your game anymore" but more along the lines of a mutual understanding that benefits both companies. Had sony paid money for an exclusive game then we would have an exclusive game, the fact that we dont have one is quite telling.

That being said, im all for Sony announcing Agent as a PS4 exclusive

I doubt it will be timed exclusive it would probably be exclusive content for Ps4

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Doesn't matter.  Last gen port being a next gen exclusive isn't going to move consoles.

Just like exclusive marketing won't move consoles <looks at Watch_dogs>

Once you entered you won't be the same anymore. A blog about life.

Very, very strongly disagree.

I'll buy the Last of Us: Remastered again, but not GTA 5. I think it's a little excessive, and while GTA 5 is a great game I don't need to play it again.

There would be no point to this, not much anyway, there are so many copies of the game out there, and I don't think it has the re-playability The Last of Us has anyway (I would love Uncharted 2 & 3 while we are at the port begging thing...) ... obviously some people may prefer to replay GTA5... unless it has a good amount of new content...

In all honesty I think that offering two "definitive" editions like Thomb Raider:DE did with the XB1 version being less definitive hurts MS more than exclusivity on the PS4, simply because it hammers home the point about the differences between the two machines even more... but that's my own kind of troll
