Forums - Nintendo - Why isn't THIS part of Nintendo's Mario Kart 8 commercial campaign!?

The Blue Shell Blues song on Ninendo UK's Youtube channel. If they cut the song into 30 second bits and had them in the background of a video with gameplay clips of characters getting hit by blue shells in slow motion and people angrily flipping out (muted) with their friends in slow motion, it would be perfect.

Nintendo needs to capitalize on the fact that 99% of the fun in Mario Kart for most people comes from how it makes you hate your friends. Put that feeling together with a catchy song like this one so that it stays in people's minds. Once they have the song stuck in their heads, they'll constantly be thinking about their fun times with Mario Kart.

I still stick by my belief that one of the PS4's biggest sellers was that "It's such a perfect day" ad. It's such a perfect commercial. (pun intended) Music connects with people in a way that "clever" ads just can't do alone.

It is sort of part of the campaign already just by being put on the channel, but I agree, they should have put it into the commercials.

And you're right, the commercial can make all the difference. The Wii's "Wii would like to play" is definitely a big part of what sold it. Best video game commercial I've ever seen. The catchy music was definitely a part of it.

Because Nintendo is not the brightest company that exists!

I for one strongly believe that marketing has the power to turn almost anything around.

That's why it's annoying that they have marketing gold that they aren't utilizing.

Gah, I despised that commercial. The fact that there wasn't a second of gameplay pissed me off.

It's not bad lol but like there are a lot of people who just need somthhing flashy and catchy to get them to buy a product.

It fascinates me that mordern people think that kids, casuals or gamers watch commercials on TV.
If they look at regular TV at all, they check their smartphone/iPad/laptop when there are annoying commercial breaks.
