No, it's just easier to develop for right now. It's sort of the reverse of what we had last gen. Took devs a little longer to crack PS3, it's taking them longer to crack Xbox One.

You mean PS4 is not powerful than XBox one and its just the PS4 SDK made this resolution difference? Last gen PS3 was differnet architecture so its differnt and everyone knows(Sony and developers claim PS4 is powerful) PS4 is powerful and xbox one is also shares same GPU with less power and slow RAM.



GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Hunn... does that means that for engines not yet very scalable the "natural gap" is 1080p/900p??

This gap will vanish by next summer games.

So did they faced any challenges in getting the PS4 version up and running at 1080p? “Mainly CPU issues, as our engine didn’t scale for more than 2­-4 cores. This required a change of threading architecture and many parts of the engine needed a rewrite,” Krzysztof  added.

 


I wonder for how many other engines this applies to....

Yeah that's really interesting. I haven't heard others complain about that before.

It seems half of what developers are saying is that the PS4 is easier to program for but many have also said the PS4 hardware is noticeably a bit more powerfull than the XboxOne.

This game is excellent, it's tons of fun, has definitely the oldschool Doom-like vibe. Katana wielding is very funny, once you unload your gun you're just slashing your way through demons.

Another thing I relaly like, as Hard Reset, Shadow Warrior has a beatiful, colorful artstyle. Traditional BrownGrey fps player are going to have their eyes melt ^^
