Holy shit, the guy next to me in work was reading this very article this morning when he got in, and I didn't even notice that. Whoops.

Don't worry. Sales prove nobody didn't notice Wii U was released a year and a half ago.

By the way, the figures being thrown around in that article are sourced from VGChartz.

Just thought I'd throw that one in there.

Nintendo really should have went for a better name. If they really wanted to keep the Wii brand then they should have went for Wii 2 but nope, they had to try to be smart and go for something that rhymes with 2 rather than the actual number.

And that was the mistake since the beggining because the Wii brand died in 2011.

this is why numbers are good. Wii 2 as lame as it sounds its easier for the low iq person to understand than Wii U

Ahh I see. Are there a lot of classifieds in the back? Is that how they make their money?

and I doubt they just "forgot" to add the U. They just do not know. Like many. I still have people ask me daily what the difference between a U and a Wii is.....are.

There are adverts but I'd say it's roughly equal to buying a tabloid (which has ads AND costs you money)

As for the article. I think this is a mistake on the part of those calling the Metro out, the main article uses "Wii U", they simply shortened it in the title... they would have done the same with Xbox as that is named in a similar fashion to Wii. (Playstation alone might have been used, but I suspect they would add the number due to Vita)

The U had nothing to do with rhyming with 2. It was about  you the gamer.

METRO is good for wiping smudges off my aviators, and not much else.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

The Wii U is technically also a Wii so no harm done. it's like saying "Will Infamous SS drive Playstation sales?". I don't think anyone would assume they're talking about the PSX.

We have the same here in Stockholm, they're (naturally) available on and near subway stations.

It frightens me to think why you all are frequenting subway stations? illegal activities?

J/K I live in the suburbs, so in the movies those places always are portrayed as seedy areas. I know that many use ...subways?...in populated areas. Subway is actually a train right?

No matter, they should have done their research!

Actually, in Oslo (the capital of Norway) the subway really is a shady area, especially around the Central Station, I've literally had people come up to me right after I leave the train and offering me several kinds of drugs. Here in Stockholm, there are some areas that are shady as well, on subways and otherwise, these areas are, ironically, almost all suburbs!

This seems to be a UK wide problem.

I am a day 1 adopter of the Wii U but people still tell me I have a Wii and I've gotten tired of correcting them as I don't want anyone thinking I'm calling them stupid.

Its like the U doesn't register in people's consciousness at all. I'm not so sure this is something Nintendo could have anticipated.

I think its more about what the Wii became known for. What should have been a positive became a massive negative for the Wii U.
