According to a guy on reddit who took this pic, some Targets are selling the bundle early

The Japanese are rapidly adopting the Wii U, it is very clear from the sales on Amazon of not only the console but its accessories. MK8 has been atop amazon.co.jp for about 2 weeks now and the Wii U console just zoomed past the PS4 yesterday even though its hardly been in the top 100 this year until about 2 days ago. The PS4 then went on to fall like a stone dropping as low as 50 today despite being consistently in the top 20 since its launch. If it continues on the same trajectory with the past 48 hrs, the PS4 might well be completely out of the top 100 in a week. Sony need a strategy for Japan, it is seriously bucking the worldwide trend.

The only unknown is if the Wii U can translate this into some form of momentum in Japan.

There are a lot of French yeah, I'm amongst those. Tried online just 2 tracks(have to finish solo to get used to the tracks), there were like 2 people from the US, the rest were all French.

The MK TV is nice, also tried that, but...you can't upload whole tracks :

While I captured my hands on the game :

The thing is, if you ask the store about the game, they grab one from under the register and sell it to you. They don't put it on shelves yet to avoid Nintendo's anger though.

They need to push their old games on the Japanese and have a steady flow on the way. Especially in June.^

Yeah, and another interesting thing I noticed is that it seems its the white basic set with only 8GB of Flash memory that is getting the most sales over there so it seems like cost is a factor in most buyer's decision and there is a boost in Pro-controller sales suggesting hardcore gamer adoption. Hasn't the manufacturing of that basic model been discontinued by the way?

After completing the 50cc cups and part of the 100cc, I'd say it's one of the best Mario Kart, the new tracks are going from okay(like, you're discovering the gravity thing) to amazing, some of the retro ones are just wonderfully redone with nothing new, while a few have gameplay changes, the only disappointment I heard was Rainbow Road 64 : you only complete a lap, but I disagree : that was a long track back then and 3 laps probably would've bored people again.

Still a lot of kart parts to obtain by collecting coins, loving it so far !

The French are actually one of the best Places for Nintendo in EU, and maybe Germany is too.

edit: THEY ARE ALREADY USING MIIVERSE AND MK8 TO PUT INTO YOUTUBE!!!!!!!!

Nintendo France also acknowledged we were quite an important Monster Hunter fanbase, as well as very receptive to J-RPGs, mentionned they are working on translating Shin Megami Tensei IV in French.

Great, and the Amazon.fr charts agree with you as the MK8 bundle is now at number 12 so a decent number of new adopters.

Can't wait for Saturday, hope Amazon prime delivers mine promptly to manchester. My friends always make fun of me in the office that I'm the only one with a Wii U in Cadishead (the suburb I live in). Although, I'm hosting a local MK8 party this weekend.
