Forums - Gaming - Since no one else will say it; Destiny looks dissapointing

I'm super late to the party, but I have to disagree with drunk, anonymous internet critic.

From what I've seen, I'm super excited for the game. To call it unoriginal is a bit disingenuous. Yes, it shares elements with games like Borderlands, Defiance, and PlanetSide, but it's pretty damn unique. By eschewing the standard MMO formula -- a huge world shared simultaneously by hundreds or thousands of guests on a server -- and instead matching smaller parties together during community events, I think Bungie will able to create an experience that is primarily focused around the individual or party, but still feels like a living, breathing, inhabited world.

It's hugely ambitious, but Bungie is one of the most talented studios around, and, honestly, it's the only one in the industry I think capable of such a project.

None of the trailers have done anything for me, but the reason I'm interested in it is because my friend is, and it'd be awesome to play with him.

It looked amazing the first time they showed it off. Much much better than I imagined.

It looks like Borderlands.

Borderlands is an absolute blast.

This game supposedly looks boring?

That makes zero sense.

The game looks fun. It looks like a whole lot of fun, to be honest. It certainly isn't revolutionary, though, which is fine by me. I'm getting a bit sick of games getting attacked because they're not revolutionary. I just want a fun game, I don't give a rat's ass if it "evolves the genre" or not.

Game will be fun with friends even if it won't be anything special and that's what I care most about. And since it is made especially to play it together the experience with friends will be probably better as in other games which are also fun in co-op but where co-op is only an addition.

If it will be boring alone or with some random guys you meet in the game is not really something I find important in this game.

I'm optimistic. I love the Halo games and this looks similar. Not very into the MMO thing, but eh we'll see.

Bungie has earned a lot of goodwill over the years, that's probably why people aren't instantly shooting this game down. I would like more information on it but I'm interested for now.

Making their team bigger obviously doesn't make it better.

Frankly, I'm finding the "defeat the space aliens invading our homeworld!" theme very stale. We need something genuinely different. Personal opinion: a Turok reboot or similar franchise.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I'll judge it when I see it in action. But, be ready to see Destiny become the best selling game of this year.

Mario Kart will probably want to have a serious talk with you.......

Yeah them Mario Kart is Drunk and needs to go home, there will be a few games this year that will outsell the Wii U let alone a game on the Wii U.

I was ecpecting soo many vehicles and robot things, and bigger environments than normal so iam too disappointed.

maybe I was expecting too much on the maps....but no such robots and other stuff ?!.

Well this certainly goes against the status quo.....mainly PS fans that value its pretend exclusivity and would elevate this game as high as possible.

I certainly read up on the previews and seen as much content as possible. It looks part Mass Effect, Halo and Borderlands with no originality of its own. Combat looks slow and not tense. The story lacks the base that Halo started off as and frankly I don't think it will come close to being as rich as the Halo extended universe.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
