Forums - Microsoft - external hdd improves x1 loading time

Since my post with humour was out of touch, but I still think this is a important new for Ms fans I'm reposting. Sorry for the other thread and if duplicated.

http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/05/26/xbox-ones-external-storage-can-improve-loading-times-with-games/

Oddly enough for any machine to have support for higher external transfer speed than internal because of internal SATA standard and external USB 3.0 transfer rate is double on external hdd (for an appropriate drive of course). This means gains on loading time for games (no report of any improvement in game).

Enjoy getting faster to your game.

both awesome and kind of sad. the console architeques so obviously did't give gaming a high priority in their design.

So faster hard drives are actually faster?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I really dont want another damn thing sitting on my shelf.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I don't think it's architecture as much as just disk speed.

Quite right, thank you for pointing it out

It isn't about greater disk speed improving read speed is just about letting people know of it. And is strange to have protocol for faster connection on the outside and slower inside.
