greatly overrated. still fun to mess around due to its sandbox nature. but thats about it. the gangsta plot smells already. i really would like to see a more serious aproach to a sandbox game by Rockstar themselves.

True, although I think the narrative suffers quite a bit by being in a GTA game. Mafia II and, to an extent, L.A. Noire felt like better designed open-world strory-driven games (although I don't like L.A. Noire's plot as much as GTAIV's).

I sort of agree that it might be overrated, but I don't see how it's a bad game. It really isn't one to me. I had quite a blast playing it!
Many things in IV are the best in games. GTA V is simply the best game ever. They are the best rated games for reason. What is the best selling game for last-gen? 
GTA is masterpiece for demanding gamers.

GTA IV and GTA V were overrated but still good games. Everything else in the series, deserved what it got. It would be awesome if they based a whole GTA storyline on a biker gang, abit like the Lost and Damned but longer so that it would be a full game

I think the games are good, but overrated metacritic wise. 85-87 seems more appropriate to me.

It deserves somewhere between an 83-93 on Metacritic,so its a great series, but it has 97-98 metascrores, so its also
over rated.
