Jamaica beat the US off of two set pieces. Jurgen's seat is getting hot. His lack of tactical strength is really showing.

Meh.. even Jamaica has more players playing for a mid/low level Premier League team.. Too many USA players play in the MLS and not enough of them in a higher rated european league.. I think thats a bigger problem then Jurgen..

That is never the issue. Forming a solid group should be Klinsmman top priority. USA have a good group of players to dispute international tournies.
England has the most players playing in EPL but they can't even pass Euro group stages.
That "lol" for Jamaica beating US is of bad taste Nikkom. I would appreciate if you change that.

That isn't true. They only have two players in the EPL (crystal palace and leicester city) vs 3 for the US (Aston Villa, Stoke, and Everton).
If that was the actual issue, then Giles Barnes wouldn't be the best player for Jamaica. He plays in MLS as did the other goalscorer. Honestly, it gets compounded when the players responsible for both goals, also play in Europe (Brooks plays in Bundesliga and Guzan plays in EPL). In the starting XI, Evans, Bradley, Beckerman, Zardes, and Dempsey were the players from MLS.
Will will use that money wisely while Liverpool love to spend. They got near £120 for 2 players in 2 seasons, sure they've spent more then that but it helps when they also get 70 million TV and so on.
Villa can replace Benteke easily with that kinda of money, a good £12-15mil striker is all they need. they should go for Austen. I'd like Austen at Saints.

Well duh.. How much did Balotelli, Borini and Lambert scored? 4? Maybe 5? |
Lambert has been wasted, it felt like a 'lets buy him as an option just in case' but they never intended for him to be first team. He's aging and probably is getting a nice paycheck and was able to play for his club so good on him.
Hmm, pie.
No excuse in poor showing all tournament for the US, well done to Jamaica to take advantage of it.
In other semi final Panama got hosed big time on that late penalty to Mexico.
Both of the two "Giants" have been poor, Mexico received gifts to get by Costa Rica and Panama and US got punished.

Yes they would, even more so. Benteke is a proven premier league goalscorer, the other isn't. Besides that, Benteke is 4 years younger which is another big plus in his favour. |
Jackson Martinez is a proven Champions League and Portuguese League goal scorer, even more credited than Benteke.
Playing in EPL doesn't mean jack. How many EPL stars got out of EPL and set the world on fire?
Age doesn't mean anything when you don't have skills. Young age is just a promise not a certainty, Jackson is a certainty.

Saints looked good tonight.. Clasie clearly need more games to get the right fitness level.. while Vitesse is a step above Feyenoord right now they shouldn't have a problem with it.. especially cause Koeman knows vitesse well..

Players from foreign leagues can be fairly hit or miss, just look at Falcao as an example of someone who was brilliant in Portugal and Spain but couldn't cut it in his first season in the EPL, maybe he will be better in his 2nd season with Chelsea though. But why take a risk on a player who may take some time to adapt when you can get someone who has already proven he can do it. Players that are actually stars in the EPL very rarely leave until they've already passed their prime so that's a moot point. Except Benteke isn't just some young player, he is proven to have skills. He's a damn good player, and he's young. Oh and nothing, absolutely nothing, is a certainty when it comes to football. Not Benteke, not Martinez, hell even someone like Messi or Ronaldo could play much worse if they moved. Everything is a risk, some risks are just smaller than others and Beneteke is one of the smallest risks they could have taken. |
Dude, Falcao was flopping in Monaco big time before going to MU. He was supposed to move to Madrid but he was a shadow of himself.
Michael Owen 24, S. MacManaman 27, D. Beckham 28and all of them were stars at their club. As soon as they stepped into La liga, they played second fiddle to other players in their position.
What you could blame for bad adaptation of foreign players in England is bad coaching. EPL has some of the worst coaches on the big leagues /none.
