So, if Spain wins by 2 tonight, it's NED +4, CHI and ESP both -2. Spain beats AUS by any score, Chile beats NED 7:0 and Netherlands is out.
If Spain wins 4:0 tonight, then Chile needs ONLY 5:0 to eliminate the Dutch....

Chili would be at +0, they beat Australia by 2 (3-1).

Maybe you missed my previous post. I am setting up a 3way tie with 6 points, in that case all Australia results are not considered.

What is evident here though, even if/when the Dutch win, they have clear problems at the back.

We knew that from the start.. In the netherlands we didn't really expect much because of our defence.. Then we destroyed Spain..

I think Spain are a poor example when it comes to defensive displays. They dont really score a lot of goals (Last WC for example), they just rely on dominating possession and gradually breaking teams down.

When you play a fast counter attacking strat against a team like Spain who rely on possession and tika-taka you always have the chance to dominate. Look at Madrid vs Bayern in the CL for a good example. Or Chelseas CL win vs Barca when they won the comp.

A team like Germany wont roll over as easy as Spain.

Best match so far! I couldn't see the matches yesterday... how dissapointing/horrible was Brazil-Mexico??

It was a great match.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

Just playing around with numbers while waiting fir the next match.
Scenario for Australia:
Spain beats Chile by 2. SPA at +2, CHI at 0, AUS at -2.
Chile loses to NED any score, AUS wins by at least 3 goals difference against Spain, they go through...

Enough for now, realistic scenarios after the match...

Chile has +2 as of now, if they lose to Spain by two, they would be at +0. Spain would be at -2.

Both with 3 points, if Chile then beats the Netherlands and Spain do the same with Australia the scores needed to leave the Netherlands out of the last 16 round will have to be:

Chile 3-0 Netherlands.

Spain 5-0 Australia.

Not gonna happen.

Just realized we now most likely will miss like 5 of our players for the Champions League qualification.....

Assuming you're talking about Feyenoord (in dat geval, ook Rotterdams?), isn't the qualifier after the World Cup?

I suppose those players could go on vacation instead though .

-_- there's still hope

Incredible match and felt for Australia as they absolutely gave their all. Netherlands have such quality hard to contain, why I picked them to win it all.

It was very good, but the best game thus far was easily England-Italy. The two Netherlands' games fill the rest of the podium.

All my bets for today:

Aus 0:4 Netherlands
Spain 2:1 Chile
Croatia 3:0 Cameroon

BTW. guys, has James Harden decided to prove his critics wrong about him having no defence and decided to play the goalkeeper for Cameroon? ;)
