Tons of countries have that.

6 years is wrong, it's 8 when you earn the right to get German citizenship.


In this case completely irrelevant as all people who have German ancestory in Eastern Europe (due to the re-allocation of previous German parts after the war) automatically earn German citizenship when they move to Germany.

The legal point of view is what counts.
Being raised here means being integrated and accepting and living (at least partially) the German mentality.
The final point is why we even have this discussion. You even admitted that the Polish youth system or at least scouting system didn't do much, so if they stayed in Poland there's no guarantee that they would've been even half as good as they are now.

Anyway back to my main point. They aren't 100% Polish and that's a fact.


Dude, I'm a lawyer and I know what I'm talking about much better than you do :P It is 8 years, but if you pass a (pretty easy) language test, it goes down to 6 years, so in practice this means it's 6 years - better check before you call me out on something, I know my shit, I've even participated in a course for immigrants wanting to get German nationality when I lived in Germany :P The cheapest language courses out there ;)

To me it's not the legal point of view that matters. Just because you have a German passport doesn't make you German, there is more to that. And we both know that being raised somewhere doesn't means being integrated and accepting and living the mentality of that state - the West is learning this the hard way right now, you are as well with the Turks.

Podolski and Trochowski are 100% Polish. Klose isn't - I'll give you that. To me it's blood that matters, not a flimsy piece of paper, which is a result of purely economical calculations.

@your comment about the scouting and youth system - Messi was taught how to plain in Spain, wouldn't be this good if he stayed in Argentina. Doesn't make him any less Argentinian or more Spanish :P

 

BTW. Have I finally nailed a score? After so many games... :) France is weaker than I was hoping it would be. The'll probably be "one-and-done" after they get out of the group. An unpleasant surprise, just like Uruguay and unlike England. Can't wait to see Argentina play Bośnia, finally a good game after a long draught :)

The tech is capable of detecting a goal even if the ball goes in only 1 milimeter. Theres no controversy here, the ref has a device that tells him the ball went in he then validates the goal. Props for the goal line tech this goal would have never been creditted otherwise it was pretty much impossible for a humman eye to see the ball went in.

 

Also screw you France I needed a fourth goal.

Didn't watch the France - Honduras match, but GG to france for winning it 3-0.

I did watch the last play goal from Switzerland. After Ecuador missed that amazing chance on the 90+2 mark, I though to myself "How funny it would be if Switzerland scored on the counter now" and BAM! .
