This article is completely false, Sony expects to sell 17 million PS4s/PS3s/PS2s from April 2014 to April 2015. They aren't shipping PS2s anymore and they probably won't ship more then 6 million PS3s, so they're easily expecting to ship over 10 million PS4s until April 2015.

Never has Sony made a prediction like you say they have, cause that wouldn't even remotely make sense for them, why the hell would the make a prediction for the end of calendar year 2015?

Yes, because Sony overhyped the bad GDDR5 hardware and Wii U will destroy it with it's superior eSRAM, and people will soon know which console is the bestest, which is Wii U of course. That's what I believe at least, but it seems reasonable.

17 million for the PS4/PS3/PS2 combined, it could very well happen. Anything is possible, but I'm not a believer. So Sony is looking for the PS4 to sell 10 million out of that number by April 2015. I don't think they will achieve that.
